Its recommended to replace both x/y boards.also check the y drives that connect to y board on side of tv..also when boards are replaced make sure to adj trim pots as same as old boards.please give me correct model so i can look for part numbers

make sure (Y) drives dont have blown ICS .Usually you will see burnt holes on ICs if not then change out (Y)(X) boards..

WHY WON'T MY HITACHI PLASMA TV SHOW PICTURE OR SOUND? WHAT DOES THE BLUE LIGHT ON THE FRONT FLASHING 4 BLINKS MEAN?

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Unfortunately it could be any of several boards, plasma sets are harder to repair because they have a lot more boards than a LED or LCD TV, its probability not worth repairing.

I have a hitachi 55pma550 plasma tv.when I turn on the main switch red light comes on standby. But when I turn on tv the red red light on stand by turns green only for 10 seconds and goes red no picture...

It's most likely the smps. You'll first need to check voltages at CN63, pin #1-(+5v), 3-(+3.3v) and pin 8-(+6v) Also check CNPPS, pin 1-(+30v), 4-(+5v), 8-(+12v), 12-(+10v) absent these values and the power supply is clearly the problem.

Plasma wnt stay on

I have had this problem in some models of plasma sets before. In most cases the power supply and main drive boards had to be replaced. In a small number of cases the failure was the screen itself.

In all cases, the cost of the repair was expensive. For the screen failure, the set was scrapped.
