Excel Loading Problem (by 2 users)

Hi All,
I have a problem in loading excel sheet from Windows Application i.e(VB.NET 2005) one of the column in excel sheet has mixed data type so while i am loading that column into my Grid it loads numeric values and some times it loads only text values .I have also set the IMEX =1 in the connection string property.It Doesn't work even then.So can any one send me the solution of retrieving mixed datatype column values from the excel.........

Mastertry using OpenOffice.org instead of Microsoft Office. It should work and it's free.
