The power jack is broken and I need to replaced it. I have one available now but looks like I need to remove the mother board from the laptop. How is that done?

with great difficulty, you may be in luck and find an online guide with video on youtube.
There is a service guide for the A30, this should help with stripping the laptop, it takes a while to load, http://tim.id.au/laptops/toshiba/satellite%20a30.pdf

How do I replace the keyboard?

next to the F1 key and the windows key (2nd upper key and second to last key) are two screws, usually under some covering. unscrew and lift top edge of the keyboard towards the trackpad to lay face down. Undo the wire ribbon by lifting the grey or brown tabs and remove ribbon and keyboard. Then install the new keyboard by inserting the ribbon on the place. Lock down with the tabs and put the plastic prongs (close to the space bar) into the laptop body first, and then close keyboard onto the final position. screw back in and thats all. My Toshiba Satellite A30 laptop keeps switching off when charging. It works fine when on the battery but seems to overheat when I use it whilst charging the battery. Can you help ?

I would suggest that you try it with another AC adapter first, because it seems the adapter is faulty and therefore supplying more current into the laptop than necessary.
If it works perfectly with another AC Adapter, then you might just have to change your AC Adapter.
Hope it helps.
Goodluck!

A70 recover disc in A35 Laptop? (Toshiba Satellite)

Recovery disks are model-specific, mainly because they have different devices and drivers. Setup drivers are downloadable, and copied to a CD at an Internet cafe.
