Question about Mitsubishi WD62327 TV

Mitsubishi model# wd-62327

We bought this tv two years ago, its been great, no issues untill today. When we go to turn the tv on, you can hear it turn on and warm up, then it turns off and the light near the power button that is normally green is red in color. whats going on?

Same deal as twylie's issue but we ignored it for quite a while by unplugging the TV from the wall, waiting a couple of minutes and turing it back on then it would be fine all day. The day I feared has come because after doing our usual fix to the chronic warning the TV still will not turn on. Is it safe to say I'm going to have to spend alot of money to repair this or even buy a new set alltogether?

In my first post I didnt mention that I bought a brand new replacement lamp and installed it a couple of months ago. I dont understand what you mean by specify the problem a bit accuratley. In my owners guide under troubleshoot, the only solution to my prblem says Service is required by an authorized service agent. But the TV is out of warrenty, so I'm trying to fix it the most economic way especially since I just lost my job. The faulty circuit solution makes sense. I was also thinking it might have something to do with the fan since you can hear it click on then click off 10 seconds later. Please help! Thanks.

i wanted to repost my problem to the attention of any Mitsubishi DlP experts out there. MY set is model WD-62327. It was purchased brand new about 2 1/2 years ago. Worked great until the summer of this year . Every once in a blue moon when we powered the TV on, about 10 seconds later you would hear a loud click and it would power off with the status indicator light blinking red. It would stay like that unless you unplugged it. We would wait a couple of minutes, plug it back in and it would be fine for a week or so. As time went on this would happen more consistently. Recently it got to where it was happening every couple days or so. Yesturday when it happened we did our normal remedy but this time it didnt work. We waited longer before we plugged it back in then turned it on, still same problem. This obviously now a service issue. I'm curious to know what would be the cause of this and why were we able to prolong this as long as we did by just unplugging the set and plugging it back in? Could it be the fan that finally gave out or some kind of receptors or circuits that got worse over time? I really dont have much money to throw into this or buy another set right now( unemployed) Im hoping since its not that old it just a minor wear and tear issue. Thanks in advance for your expertise!

Thermistor problem caused by HEAT which you hear a Relay to sound "click"...

Especially if the fan is not working or filled with dust or the worst case the fan is already burned...

Check the FAN for cleaning and if it is still working.

Check for cold soldered parts.

You have identified the problem good,
but you could specify the problem a bit accurately

:the possibilities of your problem might be because of.
1.fault in the circuit
or
2.problem in the display of your tv.

Tv turns on for about 5 seconds then turns off then the lamp light flashes "green" what does this mean, i know the red steady light means replace lamp

There was a failure during startup meaning this could be a power supply issue, Bad capacitors in the powersupply can do this so I would have the Tv checked out.

Where is the Lamp located in the Mitsubishi 2004 model the number is WD-62327

Turn unit around facing you, either on right rear side or left rear side, generally looks as though it is a vent cover with one to three screws holding cover in place. UNPLUG TV BEFORE YOU WORK ON IT AS ELECTRICITY CAN KILL YOU.

TV problem - Mitsubishi wd-62327 62

If the lamp is bad, you will hear a buzz noise as it tries to fire up the lamp. If you let it try enough it will spit out the error message. You can pop the speaker grille off and gain access to the lamp door. Use a philips screwdriver to get in. The lamp will be shattered or damaged looking if bad. If you have a good lamp, you may have 2 bad capacitors on the power board (3300uf). They will be bulged on the top and not flat. It is difficult to disassemble this tv.

Mirror

There is black insulating foam that surrounds the projector and it may be displaced to one side. This leaves about an 1 inch opening around the projector lens and that could be the source of the problem, dust being blown into the compartment with the mirrors.
Cleaned the mirrors really well and used double stick tape to reattach the foam to the plastic frame and this will closed off the opening that maybe letting the dust into the mirrored area of the TV.
