It's just the spring that pushes your lid back up, it's on the far corner of the lid where the lower part attaches to the top part, you need to get it in place there again...

I made a mistake and drop player on floor

It is possible that dropping your player on the ground or the floor, was not an aspect of device performance that the manufacturer thought to design into the device, unfortunately. You probably want to avoid doing this with most other electronic devices in the future. I had a similar problem and called the manufacturer, which told me that they would repair mine for the same price that I could purchase a new one.

My daughter received a personal cd player from tous for tots christmas program. The Lid will not stay down and two battery changes would not remedy the problem

There is a physical mechanism that should lock in when it's pressed down. Usually there is a release button for that mechanism when you need to open it. I would try using tape and see if it will play when it's taped shut. Depending on the mechanism this may be your only option.
Thank you,

My new Cd-player is skipping on every cd disk

If is possible that either the holding lid to the spindle is wobbling or that your laser is mistuned., You can open the set and check for low setting of the main spindle, lift this if the lid is too much to the bottom of teh motor. Next check for dirt or particles in the Cd mechanism and the optical lens. clean and check. If not the lase need to focus more for the data to be read. for this you will need acess to the rear of the optical unit and should be done with an anti static tool. Attempt to do this only if competant with such electronics circuits. Since you mentioned new I believe if there is warranty to claim for this optical unit you must do so rather than waste by tampering. So go and make a claim or call up the dealer to confirm. If no help is coming you might need to change the optical unit assebly. Hope the Cd's you have played were good one. Helpful? Good day

I have the portable cd players in my classroom for students to listen to books on cds. One of the students dropped the disc won't spin. Can I take it apart and fix it?

Chances are either the motor became disconnected - which just entails opening it up and looking for anything that might have came loose; or it's completely broke which would be more trouble than what it's worth.

What I would do is hit up craigslist or ebay to find a slightly used CD player, or even local small electronics shops should sell them relitavely cheap.

Another thing is that small electronics shops love the oppertunity to advertise. With that being said, ask them if there was any way that they could do media donations to local schools and let them in some way put their business info on it. Get the name out and recognized. Then, when another breaks you have spare to use, and if you get enough donations, as an end-of-year gift give the player to each kid. - Just an idea.

Good luck and let me know how things work out!

Please give me a good rating if i've helped you out!

here is another example of how the magnet is placed and how the pieces fit together
I will upload some more pics in a second , I'm trying to find one that is just like yours

Playing music

When the lid is closed on your player there is a little switch that is activated (closed) letting the player know you have inserted a disk and you're ready to jam out. Sometimes they are fairly easy to find and sometimes they are located in places that aren't so easy, like in the hinge. For the most part, there will be a hook- like piece extending from the lid of the unit which, when closed will activate the switch on the other half of your player. If you can find this hole where the hook goes into, check to see if it is making contact by taking a tooth pick or something similar ( nothing metal !! ) and activating the switch manually with a cd inserted.

Can't switch on

hi try this: take a small flat (watchmaker) screwdriver open the battries cartige an look for the springs that connect and holds the battries shive the screwdriver between the last coil of the spring and extend it (for better connection) check with brand new battries look inside the inlet ac adapter and look for a little silver tab shove the screwdriver inside and make some distance from its position (for better connectin) check with the ac adapter if that didnt worked then check the play button - maybe it got bad connection open the cd player look at the play button - there is rubber between the button and the board clean the connection with borad with some alcohol assemble it all toghter and see if good NO?? sounds like one of those "ghost in the machine" thing GOOD LUCK

How to put the spring in

are you saying the spring to the door fell out and this is the second time??? how was it replaced the first time as a spring should not just fallout unless its dropped and a boss is broken off. ( a boss is a small plastic piece that would hold the spring in place.) This is a hard call unless you get the mechanical diagram as I dont have and they are all made differantly.

Display reads "open"

Hi! on my Rio the contacts that tell it if its open or close are at the hinge side, 2 metal ribbons that come down from the cover side and touch other metal parts below them on the base side. I'm not sure if this is the same on your model but check it, if not, then on yours it might detect open/close on the latch mechanism, so check to see if the latch action is normal, or if it feels ****, sticky etc. either way - locate the open/close sensors, and make sure they look allright, not bent, broken or dirty, and see what you can do about it. have a nice day!
