So you did try to start it up and nothing append right ? Did the tech replaced every thing at it place, is it ready to start ? Did he try to change the memory, a memory stick could make your computer not starting at all... Does it make any sound when you try to start it? When you want to find a problem, first of all, you need to know that your computer need absolutly 4 peripheral to start, those are : Motherboard, CPU that is under the fan on the motherboard, Video card and RAM (memory stick) that is/are cliped on the motherboard and surely attach to the power supply. If you ear any sound during the process below let me know! For the instruction below AVOID STATIC So first you need to do is to unplug every thing else and try to start with those four components. If it doesn't start, nothing on the screen, no sound nothing, try to unplug the power supply from the motherboard. You will also see a battery (like a watch) on the MB, remove it. Then gently remove the fan cliped on the MB, try to figure out how its cliped, then remove the CPU under the fan, do it very gently because you could damage materials. Put everything in safe place. Avoid static! After that, try to see if there is a metal piece somewhere around that touch the motherboard. You can also unscrew the motherboard from the chassis if you realy want to make sure, try checking underneat for a loose screw or anything else that could ground your motherboard onto the chassis. If everything is ok, try to put gently everything back together and try to start the computer with only the 4 components mentioned above. Still don't start, if you have more than one memory stick CLIPED ON your MB then try to remove one and start. For the memory, check on the MB to see the bank Nb, its written somewhere around the slot, should be something like : Bank 0, Bank 1 etc. or it could be Dimm 0, Dimm 1 etc. Make sure you have the first bank occupied. Try to exchange the memory. Still don't start, come back...
Are you sure that you fried your motherboard ? What does it do when you power on?
