Question about Hannspree SD02201100

I have just purchased the above item and on connecting it to the virgin media cable box I have experienced a banding effect panning the screen also a ghosting effect on peoples faces especially with movement. On disconnecting the cable box and just using analogue programmes the effect is not as pronounced but the reception is not that good.I have had the virgin cable engineer out and he has tested the cable box and has said there is nothing wrong with it.However, not being convinced we disconnected the cable box last night and connected a freeview box and we did not get this banding effect.Has anyone else experienced a fault like this on this tv or on connection with a cable box. Please can you help as I have now informed the tv repair firm who are in the process of supplying me with a replacement TV.Thanking you. Just about every problem I have had has turned out to be relative to the scart sockets. (rolling screen, wrong colour etc).

May I suggest that someone moves the scart to see if it helps.

Rather obvious I know but the obvious often works.

Mrs. Hulme,
If you have another Tv in the house try hooking it up to the cable box to see if it experiences the same problem, eliminating the fact that it could be the Tv...
Ghosting and band interferrence that you're describing usually has to do with poor ground. If you're getting good analog signal and if another Tv has no problem hooked to that box it could have been poor ground in the tuner circuit of the Tv - but my first suspect would be that digital box...

Good Afternoon, How do I connect an old dvd player to an lcd hd ready freeview tv thank you

Hi there,

You should still be able to use the standard RCA cables (Yellow, Red and White Cables) from the DVD player to the TV.

Thank you for using FixYa! Have a great day and please remember to rate this solution.

Best regards,

Cannot connect DVD Player to cable ready television

If your tv does not have the standard 3 plug video ports ( Yellow, White, Red ) then you will need an RF modulator to step in between the Direct TV box and the tv on the cable line.
RadioShack sells them as well as many other places.

Hookup wrong? I can't get the menu to come up for the VR375

New HD tv. Have digital cable box connected to tv., cable box connected to DVD recorder, but can't get setup menu to come up on tv screen. I had a similar problem. I have a HD tv connected to a digital cable box. I hooked up the DVD recorder with the wires it came with, but it would not play or give me the menu. However it was correctly hooked up. So the next day I connected a HDMI wire from the DVD recorder to the tv and everything works now.

Viewing cable tv channels

Use an av output from your media box and plug it into the line input of your DVD recorder. It can record using the line input of the DVD recorder.

The standard connections are yellow=video, white and red are left and right stereo audio. The easiest is straight to the TV
