I just installed Lj1020 on my pIV computer, but the printer will print once and will not print again, initially, i thought the problem is with the onboard usb port, i changed the motherboard and the problem still remain, i later change cable but the problem still remain, i installed a usb card and connect the printer to the PCI usb card, print will still not print, but i notice that, at times when the printer fail to print and i switch off and on the printer, it will then print, at other time too, if i change the usb port it will also print, but most time, after changing the usb port connection or even switching off and on the printer, it will still not print, please help me

I would suggest logging onto the companys web site and downloading the newest driver.
And see if there are any update locations for your printers software.
Sounds like a bad driver or printer software corruption.
Also check on your menus to see if there is a way to clear or reset the printer memory.
You most likely have some file corruption.

Switch the Printer OFF and ON again and wait for the initialization. If the Error code continues to appear, switch the Printer OFF. Remove the EIO Card (if installed) and make sure that the Hard Disk Drive is installed correctly by pushing it firmly inwards and checking that the two installation screws are completely tightened. Switch the Printer ON again. If the error codes 09Axxx or 09Bxxx appear then replace the Hard Disk Drive. If the Error Code disappeared after removing the EIO Card, then switch the Printer OFF and reinstall the EIO Card, making sure that the two installation screws are completely tightened. Switch the Printer ON again. If the Error Code reappears, then the EIO Card could be faulty. Replace the EIO Card. If Error Code 09Cxxx appears after initialization, then replace the Electronics Module. Once the Error Code has been solved, print an Internal Demo Print to make sure that the Hard Disk Drive is functioning correctly. If the Error Code reappears, then use the above information to troubleshoot the problem.
The error codes 16 means that you need to check the print head thermistor circuit during power-on. Printer initialization determined that the print head itself is not installed. Some cause of this is again the print head is not installed, the print head built-in thermistor element has failed, carrier cable is disconnected or is already damage, print head temperature detection circuit has failed.
Having said this, it is better to have the printer check by a qualified technician or your local service provider
There are several things that makes printer go to not working condition. You will have to follow few steps before trying to print again. Believing you are using Microsoft Operating System, open Printers and Faxes from Control Panel. Now right click on the printer and click on "Properties" that is being used by you. Try to print a test page. If you get a print, it means there is some glitch with your printer preferences. You can set it to the defaults. You can look for the same by going to different tabs. I am not able to write specifically as I am unaware of the printer and OS being used by you.
If you do not get test print, double click on the printer's icon in Printers and Faxes of Control Panel and see if there is any pending queue there. If there is one, remove all pending tasks starting from the bottom of the list. In most cases you will not able to delete the top print queue. In this case, click Start Menu > Run. In the Run box type "services.msc" without quotes. Look for "Print Spooler" and select the service. Restart the service with the link provided on the top left corner of the screen. Now once again try to delete the print queue that you were not able to delete. This time you will be able to delete it. Once you have performed all the above said troubleshooting steps, try to print a test page again. In most case these troubleshooting steps resolves the issue. Now check if the printer is set to default. If not, right click on installed printer icon and click on "Set default printer".
If printer is still not printing, try to uninstall printer and re-install it using its installation disk that is provided by printer's manufacturer.
LJ1020 is not a network printer. I think this printer connected to a local computer which may called as print server. and the printer connected to all other computers through this computer. if it so, Pl. let me know that whether the print finish its process when it was given from the Print server. if not, Pl uninstall the driver from the print server and reinstall.
This seems to be a driver issue.
Don't know how familiar you are with your pc and printer, but there is some ways you can try.
First try, rightclick my computer and choose properties, then choose device manager. search up lj1020 printer in list and rightclick it. Choose update driver, let Vista search for it.
Second try, download Lj1020 driver from hp.com, save it on your desctop and zip up the file. Go to controlpanel, printers, rightclick Lj1020, choose properties, advance, click update driver and when wizard ask for driver, choose have disc and let the wizard search in the unzipped folder you have download from HP

1. uninstalling and re-instlling the Adobe application once more?
2.the spooler - opn run on your computer and type down "net stop spooler"- let the command window close - then again pen ru and type down " net start spooler " and let the DOS / command window open and close again. Try taking the print with the printer in the ready status.
3. usbcable detection
Step 2 and 3 will not be most effective if the other applications are printing fine.
Try uninstalling and re-installing the Adobe application.
Or else you have to contact the Adobe vendor for further issues. It could also conflict if you have older version of IE in your computer.Becaus Adobe 8.0 is the latest version that might conflict with the older version of IE
First, you need to try update the latest microsoft office patch file from microsoft or you can open the MS Word, go to "HELP" menu select the update MS Word or related. Try the latest patch file first. You also can try windows update and select custom update, see their list have this problem solution or not.
Second, you need to go to HP website download latest driver for LJ1020 and suitable use on Vista.
Lastly, if still not solve the problem, you need this problem/issue to microsoft, ask their solutions.
