Question about Dishwashers
Hi guys my dishwasher wont seem to start the cycle, it has power, i choose the cycle and press start but it wont go any further can you help us out please!
Aslav...Does it do anything at all and how do you know it has power? Find and turn the breaker fully off and then on to reset it.
You don't say how old the unit is. If it has a mechanical timer, is it one you can turn? If so, turn it. If it starts to do something...this gives you an idea what's happening. Try a different cycle.
The first things a timer 'authorizes' in a dishwasher are: water in and start of pump motor. If neither is happening and power is on to the connection under the unit (use a voltage tester you get from the hardware store), then replace the timer. My bet: no power.

A dishwasher has a timer similar to a dryer you need a schematic so you can check the voltages at the heat cycle some times the timer goes out, and rarely the heating element or pump goes out. and make sure when you press start power travels through the button.

START/RESET status indicator light flashing
You have pressed the indicator light flashing START/RESET pad while the START/RESET dishwasher is running. This will cancel the cycle. The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains (about 90 seconds).
• Press the pad once to start the dishwasher. Press the pad a second time when the dishwasher is running only if you wish to cancel the cycle.
Power to the dishwasher was turned off while a cycle was running and power has just been restored to the dishwasher. The blinking lights indicate that the dishwasher is draining the potential water inside.
• The light will stop flashing after the dishwasher drains. A new cycle will start automatically.
