Shutter speed actomatic change

In the manual and shutter-priority modes (set the dial to "M" or "S"), turn the command dial to change the shutter speed. In the aperture-priority mode (set the dial to "A"), turning the command dial changes the aperture and the camera will set the shutter speed appropriately.

You have described Aperture priority mode: you set the f/stop and the shutter speed changes to make the exposure correct.

Full manual mode requires you to set both the shutter speed and the f/stop. You are seeing the recommended f/stop for the shutter speed you have selected.

I can't find in the manual where it says you can manually change the shutter speed. It will change as you select different modes or change the ISO but, I don't believe you can manually change it.

The EM doesn't really have a manual shutter speed setting. It does have a Bulb setting for long exposures and a 1/90 second manual for flash, but otherwise the camera automatically sets the shutter speed to go with the currently selected aperture.

Normally you would set the aperture and let the camera set the shutter speed. You can adjust the shutter speed by pressing the exposure compensation button for +2 stops. You can also adjust the exposure by changing the ASA/ISO setting.

In Manual exposure mode, you can change the shutter speed by turning the command dial on the back of the camera.

In S and M modes you control the shutter speed directly by turning the command dial on the back of the camera. In A mode the dial controls the aperture which indirectly affects the shutter speed. In P mode the dial shifts the exposure to another equivalent exposure, which also changes the shutter speed.

When you set the camera to "Full Manual" mode, you should be able to dial in your shutter speeds, for most film cameras, including the N55 30 Seconds is the slowest shutter speed. If your camera features a "Bulb" mode, then the shutter stays open as long as you are holding down the shutter release button.

Try CUSTOM SETTINGS MENU 31. (turn off EXP. delay mode).

That depends on the exposure mode. In the point&shoot modes the camera sets the exposure.

In P you can turn the command dial to change the exposure.

In S you turn the command dial to set the shutter speed, the camera changes the aperture to suit.

In A you turn the command dial to set the aperture, the camera changes the shutter speed to suit.

In M you turn the command dial to set the shutter speed, you hold down the aperture button and turn the command dial to set the aperture.

The shutter is a copal shutter and it does change . Try 125th speed haer the sound and then change to 1/15th . Also you can tell on your histragram inthe camera or the image on your display .
