Anti theft code

I have a 1998 vw new beetle it comes with an anti theft stereo that goes into safe mode if the battery dies in any way or if removed. i had the 3.4 booklet before that i need to get the code but i feel my wife by accident has thrown it out since i have all but the one i need. im trying to find out what my code is. its a four digit code that i need to enter into the system to get it to turn back on to hear music. i know how to enter it just not the code. PLEASE PLEASE can you help, i have failed at finding it for 2 weeks now and dont have the money to take it in to have it done for me. PLEASE help...

I was changing the car battery, and the stereo anti-theft went on. I haven't been able to make it work.

Hi,

This is a fairly common issue with modern car radios since anti-theft has been added as a security feature. Your options are rather limited if you lost the manual. A few are:
1. Contact the original dealer of the vehicle. You need to present proof of purchase/ownership and VIN number. If the dealer is sympathetic, he will check on a database and get the numbers for you; or
2. With fingers crossed, check the spare tire area. See if you can locate the sticker with the VIN number. In most instances below it would be a series of 4 numbers. Try using those numbers as your code.

Pls be reminded that after 2 wrong tries, you need about an hour or more before you can try again.

RADIO HAS NO POWER

It can be faulty radio amp or radio control fuse is blown out.Check voltage at radio wires.You should get 12 volts.

Replaced the Battery and my Mercedes benz 1996 C280 CD player is requesting a code, does anyone know if it is unique or universal code, please supply if the code is universal.

To reprogram the radio there is 4 digit code. That code has to be inserted, once these code is inserted, your car radio will get into its actual setting where you can set/select your radio setting.

Many a time's radio asks for the code after car battery is disconnected.

On some cases to retrieve the code its mentioned in manual or else car dealer is other option to get car radio code.

If its locked then to unlock it the radio system needs to be reprogrammed.

To reprogram the radio there is 4 digit code. That code has to be inserted, once these code is inserted, your car radio will get into its actual setting where you can set/select your radio setting.

2004 VW Beetle no power to Radio

Your radio is most likely in "safe mode", an anti-theft feature. There's a 4-digit code that will need to be entered in order to get the radio operational. The code may be on a label inside the spare tire well in your trunk (some years). Otherwise the code can be obtained from the VW dealer with the car's VIN number and serial number from your radio.
