The waste ink on a Canon is a set of pads covering the whole bottom of the printer case. They only cost around $10.00 but you need a shop to replace them and reset the waste ink counter.

My MFC 440CN is printing pictures in grayscale color, not vibrant colors like before. The colors are a lot duller than the actual picture. I've used Picasa and also Microsoft Picture It and they both do the same.
