Sorry- I realize that the MFC-9420 isn't the same as the MFC-9840, but I didn't see a section for the 9840, so I hope it's OK.
We've got a new MFC-9840CDW that's been printing a small 1/4" vertical pinkish strips about 2" from the right side of the paper. It doesn't appear when you print/copy black and white and doesn't appear when you print/copy a blank piece of paper. It's most noticeable on any full color image - appearing slightly pink on gray backgrounds (noticeably) to being barely noticeable on darker colors such as blue. Thoughts? TIA
Turn off the machine's power switch and then
turn it on again. If the error message continues
leave the machine for several minutes and then
try to print, copy or scan again
Good luck.....

Thank you for the response. The problem was resolved by replacing the Laser unit by a field service technician. Prior to that, Brother attempted to throw parts at the printer by replacing the Drum Unit and Magenta toner cartridges.
