Re: I need toby past e brake

All I did on my Jensen VM8022 was ground the parking wire on the chassis of the radio. No "secret menus" no hassle. I put a flat u connector on the end of the wire and loosened one of the screws on the back attached the wire then tightened the screw back down. To make sure this will work with your radio just touch the wire to the metal radio body.

You need the Metra 70-1771 Receiver Wiring Harness. You can enter this wiring harness under google search then select the web shopping option. Or you can copy and paste this link:

IF you google it under shopping remember you will find same item for lower cost. Your choice

most people dont know this but the brake cable from the DVD player usually its pink, you tie it together with the vehicles black ground cable. This will allow you to use the DVD player while driving. (remember though its considered illegal in CA. I only let you know for informational purposes. Hope it helped

How to by past the brakes wire for the dvd to play

According to the owner's manual, the pink wire is your parking brake wire and it has a label 'PRK SW' on it. It requires a negative signal to show that the parking brake is engaged. If it is currently hooked to your parking brake, you will need to trace it to where it is connected and remove it first. Be sure not to leave any wires exposed that can short out. Then connect the wire to a source of ground. this can be the black wire coming from the head unit, or a convenient screw nearby that is mounted to the vehicle chassis.

The manual can be found here:

Please note that it is likely illegal to have video playing where the driver is in view of it. Check your local laws before considering making this modification.

There are a few ways to do this. Most of them involve grounding the e-brake wire and uploading special software. should have multiple posts that give you step by step directions.

How do i bypass the brake

Most wiring harnesses have a solid orage wire for illumination of the radio and also have an orange wire with a white stripe for dimming purposes. Most radios do not use this dimming feature. Connect the brake wire to this wire and your able to watch your movies whenever you want. All the wire is looking for is a signal. It cannot differentiate between a parking brake signal and a non-parking brake signal.

Alpine cva-1005 ps2 not working while ebrake is up

just get 2 toggle switches and wire them up one to the foot brake wire and one to the ebrake wire ....then connect the foot brake wire to a 12 v+ and the ebrake wire to a ground ....then flip the switches as if you were stepping on the brake and pulling the ebrake then releasing the foot brake .... worked like a charm for me !

sounds like dual zone is activated, itll allow you to play dvd in back but not when youre driving. you may have to frig the unit to allow dvd display whilst driving, this usually involves a cable thats supposed to connect to your handbrake.

If youve rigged it to watch dvd's while moving. the sat nav thinks the parking brake is on and wont move. The vss cable needs to be connected as well.
