I need a replacement for the remote for my TEAC Micro hi-fi MC DX220iDAB system. The remote is RC 1104 but I cant find one. Will another work instead?

Possibly. Try locating another Teac remote for another unit very similar to what you have vintage wise. Often they use identical frequencies, may not have all the same buttons, but will work.

When playing CD, volume level around 25 the audio will cut out. Sometimes the unit will not read CD.

Two separate issues:

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts, overloads and operator exuberance by refusing to turn on or stay on.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output or marginally low impedance loading by the speakers; and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced and competent hands-on tech.

Constant humming regardless of Tuner or Cd or Aux settings. Pops when I shut if off too.

This could be several Things. if your getting a humming:- Possible loose wire/Connection at plug/socket outlet et,c. Pre-Amp/Amplifier problem on PCB ( printed-Circuit-Board of actual device ) fets et,c.
The pop at shutdown, would most likely be Amplifier Problems.
Recommendations:- return the base-item to an electrical goods repair Specialists, For an estimation/Quotation.

Hum in TEAC EX-M3 radio

(1) Is the hum out of both speakers?? (2) Is the sound distorted out of any of the speakers?? If the answer is yes to 1 and no to 2 then it sounds like one of the smoothing blocks or capacitors have gone down and requires replacement. If no to 1 then you probably have blown the output chip or taken one side of it out, check all connections to the speakers, try not to use tape joints which are unreliable. If you do have to piece the cable, solder the connections. Then replace the chip, Ian
