Question about Brother MFC 420CN All-In-One InkJet Printer
And keeps turning off and on saying "please wait"...a kind of ding dong sound!!! I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times...and works for a while then out of the clear blue..its starts making that ding dong sound and says please wait...then the LED goes blank..none of the controls work..so I unplug and it starts all over again...
This could be for two reasons:
1. Lightning strike the days before has seriously damaged the circuit board.
2. (nearly the same) some part within the circuit board is damaged.
In both ways the circuit baord needs replacement. Unfurtunately the costs for this spare part is twice as high as a new mfc 240c...
You can try to buy another defectiv one (scanner broken or clogged print head) from eBay and simply change the circuit board, to keep your machine alive (This is what brother themself do: collecting faulty machines, separate parts and refurbish them for swapping ;-))
