Kenmore gas stove not coming out of pre- heat model 66575842001

Working on a kenmore madel by whirlpool. 2000 unit model # 66575842001 the unit will start the pre heat cycle, run for one min and then then flame goes out and never try's to re-ignite. the display will stay on the pre-heat mode untile i turn it off. This unit has a spark ignition set up for bake not a glow bar. any ideas

This sounds like a flame sensor problem. No signal from sensor will shut down gas valve. Check flame sensor position in flame/or replace

Oven will not pre-heat properly

you might want to check where the thermometer is located on older models it can be knocked out of position perhaps to close to the roof of the oven which gives false heat reading

If the gets give no gas then sounds like a Thermocouple, this is a device that allows the gas to come on after a period of time ensuring that the pilot is lit and heated up this thermocouple, once it heats it then allows gas to enter and ignite the main burner..hope this helps ,please leave feedback.

The orange glow you see is coming from the oven igniter. The igniter needs to glow white hot in order to light. You need to replace the oven igniter. Hope this helps.

Hard to know...First thing I'd check is the power supply to the unit. Turn off both breakers. Check wiring all the way through for tightness. Turn both breakers on. Next, you'll need to check the elements for continuity...with the power off.
