Can't connect to network and internet

I connected my Xbox 360 to the modem but i cant acces Xbox live The DSL Light Is Green and so is the internet light but not the data light Why is that?

How are you connected to that modem (eg., via direct connect wire, or is it wireless?) Also, does your modem require a connect password (usually a hexadecimal number) to authenticate/authorize any connections? Is your modem a modem used for computer(s), or just dedicated to the XBOX console?

It might be due to bad data cable connecting both XBOX and Modem try to Change it
