No display or sound on Mitsubishi WD-52725

TV picture and sound turned off after a loud motor winding sound. I turned the TV off and back on later, no picture or sound. Several weeks ago I changed the lamp, no idea if this is a related cause.

This is a DLP They have issues with the color wheel, the winding sound could be from this color wheel. If it stops spinning it will cause the tv to shut down. DLP is a mechanical display process. If you are handy and understand electronics you could replace this yourself. If not i would let a tech handle it.

This sound is an indication that the color wheel is faulty in the light engine, with mits sets you must replace the entire optics engine. You can purchased used light engines or have your sent in for repair. Try this site for rebuilt engines www.tristatemodule.com

if you get a blue screen than your lamp is working fine. blue screen is considered "video mute" it display that blue if the tv thinks there is no video. try to reset the tv by pressing - menu 123 then reset to system defaults.
