Problem for Maytag MDB9600A Jetclean II Built-in Dishwasher

Cycle going all the way but very small amount of water

My dishwasher is going through the full cycle but there isn't enough water to clean the dishes.
When the dishwasher is opened during the rinse cycle, I can see a small amount of water but nothing more.

I think that the pump bringing the water at the top of the dishwasher may be malfunctioning. How can I assure myself of this and solve it?

This sounds like a problem with the water supply. have you had recent major plumbing work? What is your water quality?(sediment, minerals, low pressure, etc) The fill cycle is metered only by time, with a float switch safety, so if your supply is restricted, the fill valve will open for its allotted time and then shut off even if there is not enough water. There is a screen in the fill valve that will become blocked if there are large particles in your water. If you are 100% sure that your water supply is good, I would replace the valve, it isn't very expensive and can be done with basic hand tools

Most likely, the problem is your water inlet valve. Before you go get a new one, check to make sure that the cutoff valve (probably under the sink- it is at the beginning of the water line that goes to the dishwasher) is all the way open. Sometimes it gets bumped by trashcans, or boxes of detergent, or whatever, and can inadvertently be partially closed.

The inlet valve is usually located at the front of the dishwasher, behind the plate at the bottom. Make sure you turn off the power at the breaker, and cut off the water (under the sink). The water lines (in and out) need to be disconnected, and the wires carefully unplugged (its best to use pliers to keep from yanking the cords out of the plugs).
You might just have calcium deposits all over the screen inside the valve. You can clean it with a mix of limescale remover and water. Or it may just be "broke", in which case you need to order a new one. If you have an appliance parts store in town, they will probably have it in stock.
