The phone has been fine until today. Now, it keeps asking me to set the phone up over and over.

This happens when the connection to the internal battery is loose or if the internal battery is faulty.In a rare case it can also happen if internal memory on circuit board is gone faulty.
To solve this initially open the set and check the battery if the connections are good or not ,if still has problem than replace the battery.it will ask you to set it up once again after you replace the battery.once you set it up after replacing the battery it will work fine.

- open the set and you will find a small battery inside.once you remove it,buy the same type from local radioshack shop.Sep 02, 2009
- A small coin shaped battery usually it is called cmos battery and the number written on it is 2031. ifyou still cannot find it,then try to remove the cable plugged in the board circuit and reconnect it.this will also reset the connection with battery.Popular Solutions for GE -29897GE1 Corded Phone
