Question about Televison & Video
TURN TV ON,THERE ARE LINES ON THE SCREEN IN A CONCAVE TYPE ARRAY,COLOR LINES AREN'T IN LINE WITH EACH OTHER.HAVE BEEN TOLD BY THE PERSON I GOT IT FROM THAT THERE IS SOMETHING CALLED A CONVERGENCE MODULE THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.IS THIS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE REPAIRED OR ARE THEY READILY AVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT?IT'S AN OLDER TV,SO I DON'T WANT TO SPEND ALOT OF MONEY ON IT.THANKS ROBIN.YOU CAN EMAIL ME AT ATMAN246@YAHOO.CA
Robin, your convergence IC`s have failed, they are readily available but not an easy job for a non-tech, the board has to be removed from the tv and then the IC`s have to be un-soldered and new ones installed, this is not a real expensive repair but everyones description of "expensive" is different. At my shop this would cost approx. $265.00 out the door, Hope this gives you the info you need to make the decision, still have questions? ask away, BMW Rider
