Question about Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO (F5D9230-4) Router (1010835)

1 Answer

Belkin Router, N wireless G plus MMO Red Light

On the far right icon- The World-meaning WWW connection I guess, as cannot connect. Don't have any of the original settings paperwork and am mystified by all things cyber-not great. Any ideas on this? Have tried the reset button and the trusty 'power off then on again' methods. Further than this I cannot travel alone. A Guru, Wiz or Jo blogs daily to help me on my way?

How can i reset my Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO Router it cannot connect for an internet connection

  • Locate the small master-reset pinhole on the back of the router. The pinhole is located directly to the right of the Ethernet port labeled "connection to modem."

Soft-reset the router by placing a sharp object, like a push pin, into the router hole. Push inward and immediately release the button. The lights on the router will flash and then the "Power/Ready" light will start to blink. When the light turns solid, the router is reset and ready to use. This reset does not restore the router to factory settings. It refreshes the software and is similar to rebooting a computer. If you want to restore the router to the factory settings, skip this step and move to step four.

Master-reset the router by placing a sharp object, like a pushpin into the router hole. Keep the pin pushed into the hole for 10 seconds. The lights on the router will flash and then the power/ready light will start to blink. When the light turns solid, the router is reset and ready to use.

Is the smaller light onto of the router (just below the larger green light) supposed to stay on when connected and if so, is it supposed to be green? Have seen it in yellow and red but it is not staying...

The second light is for your wi-fi protected setup. If it solid green then you have a secure connection. Blinking means looking for device. Amber means a connection was not connected. Off means idle.

Blinking amber light on modem icon

that means there is usually a problem with your modem. you know how to hook up a router, right? usually you unplug power from both devices, plug in your modem and let it load, then plug in your router. (with some isp's id will work the other way around.

    Connections

You will have an old icon in "Network Connections" (start-settings-control panel-network connections) for your old dial-up. Get rid of it or right-click on the icon-go to Properties- and click "disable". This should solve the problem.

    Wireless connection

Access the routers admin page with the hardwired pc.  http://*gateway*  right click network status on pc and get gateway.  Google the model you have for the default passwords.  Setup your wifi security then do the same to your laptop and attempt to connect again.  Bad settings somewhere.

    Belkin Router problem

    Hi,

A red light on your belkin router means its already busted as you decribe other lights are not ON at all. In all other types of modems and routers Red LED light on it mean synching up and if more than 20 secs with a red light is already considered busted.

Note: You may also check your phone cable rj11 , power surges, defective phone jack.
