Hey, I found all the drivers. I used Belarc advisor to identify each of the various hardware items requiring a driver (video, audio, LAN, etc..) and then went right to the Mfg's site to download them individually (i.e. realtek audio). For video, to improve graphics, I actually just went with a mid-level PCI-E card (nVidiaa 8600 GT) and it is a pretty darn good gaming computer now. I also bumped up the RAM to 3GB. Since the AMD 64x2 5000+ is a 64 bit processor I installed XP 64 PRO instead of the 32 bit XP Pro . . . XP64 can take advantage of the 64 bit capabilities. I think it made a big difference but I never ran 3Dmark to validate that. Hope this helps. Feel free to shoot me a note if you have any questions. Good luck!

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Be carefull with recovery cd's
Those will wipe out everuthing you have on your harddisk
Better do a backup before you intend to install Vista

Issue with sound driver.

Rolling back from Vista to XP may require the driver from Microsoft called MICROSOFT UAA DRIVER. Most regular drivers won't load without this driver being loaded first. You can also check the internet for others in the same boat trying to roll back their systems from Vista to XP.

Here is a link where you should be able to get all your drivers:

Driver problem with vista

Unless there is an overly compelling reason to be using Vista roll back to XP, wait a few more months for the new drivers. Vista I'm sure has just been developed to keep mental health proffesionals in buisines. Failing that you can often "trick" XP drivers to work on Vista ocasionaly even got a few 2K ones to work.

Obviously hit them manufacturers web site. But don't be so sure. Had to abandon a printer because just no drivers for Vista.

Go back to XP - Vista offers nothing of significance over XP and with service packs is nice and stable - Vista at this point in time does not play nicely with others hardware or software.

Wireless fails to work after reinstalling XP SP2

Hey there,

The wireless driver might only work on Vista, try the IT Administrators - Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility for Windows* XP and Windows Vista*from here

First uninstall the one you have though..

Hope this helps

Ethernet problems

I had the same problem. How I got all the drivers I needed I got ahold of an older LAN card like a Realtek 8139 or a 3Com and Windows XP automatically picked it up. I go online and paid the $30 to driveragent.com for a year subscription and scanned for drivers. It picked ALL of them up and I downloaded them there until I was 100%.

You don't have to use Vista. I certainly don't. I hope this helps you.
