Our top loading washer flashes the F1 code and stops the wash cycle. It will restart and finish the wash cycle. Any ideas of what is causing this error code?

Just got off the phone (800-659-7026) & was told by Elizabeth that the recall is scheduled to occur in October. She said I needed to have a Sears repair man to come out to verify that this is the same problem. When I asked about the charges, I was told that that the recall may involve reimbursement for any incurred charges.
Looks like we're all stuck and stuck good for $1000+.

2 year old Kenmore Oasis HE 110.27092600. Started out with occasional F1 on startup about 3-4 months ago. Usually within 30 seconds of starting. Now it's progressed to twice at startup, and then again at rinse cycle...so you can't leave it and expect clean clothes. Took off all of the electrical connectors one by one and cleaned / polished them. I'm back to once on startup, but can't get rid of it completely.

Same deal with our oasis, bought it in may of 06, replaced the board in November. Now we are getting the F1 message again. Unfortunatley we did not but the extended warranty. Defintely our last purchase from sears.

I have had my Oasis HE Canyon Capacity washer for 14 months - paid over $1000 at Sears. There is only my husband and myself, so I don't do a ton of laundry. I'm getting the F1 code now. Called the 800 number on this site today and was told that my machine was not included in the "possible recall" . The gentleman said they were "waiting on corporate" to start the recall and that they had a ton of complaints on these washers, but mine was not included because my machine supposedly has the needed upgrade. Well I guess the upgrade doesn't fix the problem because I have a practically new washer that is getting the F1 code. He apologizd but said there was really nothing they could do. What a great company this is - to charge this kind of money for a machine that doesn't last 2 years. I will advise everyone I know not to purchase a Kenmore from Sears. What a waste of money!

I have had my oasis for 2 years. I first had the F1 error after about 6 months. After 3 visits from Sears to fix it they replaced the computer board. Now here I am 18 months later and I have the F1 error message again. They are coming out Friday to replace the board for a 2nd time. My extended warranty is up in April and I am going to have to purchase an extension because I don't trust this will fix the problem. I have gotten nothing but the run-around from Sears and Kenmore. Do not buy this washer!!!! It is a waste of money.

Hello all,
Regarding the recall or need of a project number to be assigned, not many people are posting their serial and model numbers and some are getting immediate repair/recall help and others are told
we have to wait for a project number to be assigned in another 3-4 weeks which sounds like a run around.
Serial #: CT4270784
Model #: 110.27082603
My washer is still working but I paid 1,000.00 for this $&#*# washer and don't feel I should have to wait to get my F1 error code fixed.

I just called the number given. Since my serial number starts with "CU", I am not eligable for the recall repair. They offered to set up a repair visit for the usual $65 just to show up and I declined. They also told me that the recall repair is only to fix a spin cycle issue, and has nothing to do with an F1 code error......Just telling you what I was told.

My non-solution: In response to the solutions which post the number to call, I just called 800-659-7026 and the representative said that my model will be included in the recall. The only Oasis washer not included is model 110.27082600. He said that corporate is tied up in litigation. He has no estimated date for legal issues being resolved. Contrary to the other solution where a technician is coming out to fix the problem free of charge, my service rep said he could arrange service but that it would cost $60-70 for the visit, not including parts.
I aired my disbelief at this, but all I got was touchy-feely "I know how you feel, and if I had a washer I would feel the same way, if only they could hurry up with this litigation and we can get it going!".
This is unbelievable. I will try calling again, and in the meantime, I am glad that my washer still works.

My wife and I share the Kenmore & Whirlpool F1 code problem.
Ours is a Kemore Eloite Oasis, model 110.27032600.
When I called Sears "4 my home" 800-469-4663, I was told by CJ that the F1 would flash as the result of irregular voltage to the machine. I asked her for a solution, and she said they'd have to send a technician. Fine.
I explained that I had seen quite a few people on line who shared similar problems, under both the Sears and Whirlpool "Cabrio" brand...Same code, same symptom, and all happening in the same time frame (12-18 months into service).
I found out that there is a recall line!
I called the recall line for Sears: 800-659-7026.
Gerry, their rep, couldn't have been nicer and more to the point. She spoke of the control panel problem which would have to be diagnosed by a tech. But, the important part was that she was aware of a "letter" that may or may not have gone out specific to this issue/make/model (the letter going to owners) as well as a "Service Flash" that would have gone out to their tech people in the field about the problem. Though I had not recieved a letter, she said to be sure to let the tech know about the service flash, and if there was any issues/questions about coverage, to have the tech contact the recall/"service flash" line.
Hopefully this will some of you get to a solution---faster!

We have had our oasis HE washer for two years and now the F1 code has attacked. Service rep came and said they ordered the wrong part. To get the correct part is back ordered over a month. (However no recall, even though so many of this part is being oredered). This machine is manufactured by whirlpool. Whirlpool says there is no recall on this machine. But several repair shops know of this problem. When talking to the Sears service dept. and asked for a number to customer service we were given the wrong number. the number belonged to a bank. Apparently sears is aware there is a problem with this machine, but they won't admit to selling a lemon. The previous oasis line had problems but was corrected with the new model according to the store sales person. I don't think so. I also saw on the whirlpool web site about a class action law suit for the calypso washer. Maybe this is going to have to be done with Sears and Whirlpool. I saw one comment that a owner is getting their machine upgraded by Sears, please explain in more detail for the rest of us. Hang in there everyone, stick together.

Called the 800 listed on this site. Although it is no longer under warranty, they are coming out to "upgrade" the washer on June 16. The part is supposed to be shipped to my house via UPS for arrival before the 16th. We shall see.

F1 error appears at the start of the cycle. Need to start/stop 4 times then the error goes away. F1 comes back about 24 minutes into the cycle and I have to start/stop 2 or 3 times to get the error to disappear.

After programming the washer as usual, it started normally. After about 15 minutes, I heard a repetitive beep. When I checked on the washer all of the green lights that I had set were lit but the main display was flashing F1. I stopped the washer and pressed start. the washer displayed the time remaining and started again. After about 20 minutes the same thing happened. What is F1 and what does it indicate??
Please email me your comments in care of Kathy or Don Andrus
Thank you

Hello everyone, my washer is also 23months and we started having the same F1 error code. Right at the beggining of the wash cycle and at the middle approx. 17minutes into the rinse cycle. What could be causing this failure code. Has anyonetried to contact Kenmore? I would be so happy when they figure that out.
Thanks

My washer was also 13 months old when it started to have the F1 problem at the beginning of the cycle. Hitting cancel and then start resets it, but now it throws the F! error in the middle of the cycle, too. My machine is not under waranty. I had to pay $65 to have a tech out to look at the machine, and he said I could order the part and install it myself no problem. I'm curious if a $214 extended waranty plus the cost of a service call is worth it. The part is only $147. I can't affort $375 to have the part replace by Sears, so hopefully the replacement instructions are easy to follow!

My washer is also exactly 13 months old and I have the same problem. Funny how it just started when the warranty expired. If I rebalance the load about 5 or 6 times, or turn it off completely and go directly to drain and spin, I can finish the load. I also hate having to babysit my washer.

Help! My washer is only one year old. It flashes the "F1" code at the beginning of the wash cycle. If I power down and back up we can get through until the rinse cycle and then once again we go through the same routine!!

Same-
Kenmore Oasis nearly 2 years old. Just started the dreaded F1 error code. Power down/power up and it goes. I don't like the idea of babysitting the washer to make sure it gets through a cycle.
Extended warranty $214- New part $240. I'd be interested in replacing the board myself, but could use information from someone with experience replacing the same.

I have the same problem with my washer and it's exactly 13 months old also. The F1 code blinks at the beginning of the cycle and in between cycles. It's very frustrating. Fortunately for me, I read the previous posts PRIOR to contacting sears so when the representative offered me the extended warranty for only $214.00, I took it.
Much thanks to those of you who posted the previous information.

I'm having the same issue. F!. I have to restart my washer about 3-4 times for it to 'take' and continue the cycle. Was told it was a Control Unit Assembly Machine Board and that this model is famous for this break down. Can run up to $500 for repairs with labor.
Yipee!!

13 months old and same F1 code. $254.00 for part! Will it only last another 13 months?
