Remote won't turn on set.

Same problem. About 80-90% of the time you can't turn the TV on with the remote. You think it's coming on, then it does not and the light blinks. You have to hold the button down the pwr. button several seconds, let go and listen to a 'click'. Then you can turn it on and from that point on the remote works fine. THE MAIN ADVICE I HAVE IS NEVER BUY PANASONIC!!! I learned the hard way. I gave $900 for this set and $330 for the DMR-EZ47V DVD Recorder/VCR combo. It stopped working too. I hear the video processing board is bad. Panasonic wants $149 just to look at it!! Wow. I just learned a $1200 lesson... stay away from Panasonic!
