Question about FireLite (USBFLB80) Hard Drive

1 Answer

Reformast I had info backed up on my Firelite; in consolidating my archives I have transferred what I need to and trashed the remainder. Although the Firelite has no longer any files it show on the info window that only a portion of the space is available. Hence the wish to reformat so I can use all the GB space. I am using a MacBook Pro. Please advise. Many thanks Dean Harden

I droped my firelite and now it won't read. I plug it in and hear the disc startup, the blue light flashes once and then three times in a row. Can I transfer the disc to another housing?

it sounds like you have damaged the disk itself. most portable hard drives are just notebook drives in portable enslosures. The same think happened to my WD portable and I had to trash it. I saw the same symptoms and only after playing with it could i get it to read but only with 2mb since the disk was cracked. hope this helps you.

Erase Firelite backups so drive is clean and I can start over

Empty the Recycle Bin -- the files that you "erased" were _only_ moved from their location into the Recycle Bin -- they still occupy just as much disk-space.

The first thing that comes to mind is the Firelite has become full and can not accept any more backup data.
Delete the data on the Firelite and try running your backup again. If it works then that was the problem.
The backup software should have a configuration setting somewhere that allows it to automatically delete older data and keep it from filling up.
