Question about Maytag Legacy Series Top Load Washer
I have a maytag top loading washer. Recently it has stopped spinning and draining water out in spin cycle. Has had problems like it is out of balance for some time now. We will stop it and rebalance load, but sometimes problem will persist. We have checked the belt, which was burned through, and replaced it. But washer still will not spin. Sounds like motor is running but nothing happens. Can anyone tell me what the problem might possibly be?
I just had a similar problem. I broke down and had a repair man come out to take a look. He pulled off the front lower cover, took off the inlet hose on the water pump, and found my two year old daughters sock stuck in the turbine of the water pump. The motor runs both the drum and the pump, therfore it would not spin, and would not let the water drain.
Everything was fine until tonight. I'm having the same problem again. I pulled everything off just like my repair man did, but no sock. I think I might wind up pulling off the whole pump to check the otlet side.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
