Question about Intel Pentium III, 800MHz (229725001)

Computer won't turn on

Hi, when I push the power button, my power light and the 'processing' light turn on for a second or 2, then the lights go off. This happens when the laptop is plugged in (light is ON on the cord), and when I'm running off the laptop battery only.

I've tried it mult times...a couple of times today I got a page loaded telling me Windows did not start successfully....b4 I can hit any of the options listed, the screen locks up...but does not turn off.

Any idea what's going on?
Thanks- ES

I have a jazz ultratab 9.7" dual core tablet and it won't turn on. What can I do ?

First make sure the battery is charged, then try this 'factory reset' method instead of the one you mentioned (you will loose all data on the device, so hopefully you have a backup):

Turn off the unit; hold down the volume up and power buttons at the same time until the system recovery screen appears, then scroll down to 'Factory Reset' using the volume button and select using the power button.

My Dell Inspiron 1546 Laptop will not turn on. When the power button is pressed, the front white light comes on for ten seconds, then it switches off. Same reaction on battery or AC. When AC is plugge

Test your PSU power supply unit or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle of restarting or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive power and data cables IDE SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your dvd\cd floppy drives have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

computers need power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

even something as small as a faulty electrical or fan lead can cause you problems

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

check you CPU central processing unit make sure its securely seated and has thermal paste it might be getting to hot the thermal paste will help disperse the heat

Thermal compound is a sticky paste that is placed directly onto the CPU.

Allowing for a more direct heat transfer between the CPU and HEAT SINK and preventing air gaps from forming between the CPU and heat sink.

hope this helps

My computer beeps but does not start

Those beeps are telling you what is wrong. Most times it's the memory or video card.

When you plug in the power cord is there any lights whatsoever on the laptop, where the plug goes in or on the AC Adapter of the power cord?

When you press the power button do you hear fans running, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lights constantly blinking, hear the DvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer of the DvD/CD turn on for a second or two? If so the laptop is trying to boot or may have booted, but the screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with the laptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issue when you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous. Most times the problem is with the memory or Video Card. Count the Blinking Lights or Beeps and take note of their pattern (1 Long or 1 Long followed by 2 Short).

Maybe your power cord is bad if you don't get anything to happen whatsoever when you press the power button. And if that's true maybe you was operating off the battery the last time you had it on and since the power cord is bad, it was not charging the battery so the battery is drained and the power cord is bad.

Maybe you have a Static Charge Buildup. Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Battery, then Press and Hold the power button for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds plug the power cord back in (leave the battery out) and hit the power button to see if it boots. If it does, you can put the battery back in and let it charge.

Maybe your DC Power Jack which is where the power cord plugs into the computer is bad. Take an ink pen and push the tip inside the jack and see if the little pin wiggles, if so the jack is bad. You'll have to take the laptop apart to fix it. Most times it is soldered onto the motherboard, so you will have to desolder the old and solder a new one.

Maybe your memory is bad or the memory slot is bad.

Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Battery, Remove the cover that houses the memory on the bottom of the laptop then remove one of the memory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x on it with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the next memory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set it aside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If it boots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and put it into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Hello Experts, This is Viswanath Esikala from Bangalore(Near Bomallanali) Iam facing one problem, in lenovo 3000 G430, Problem is when i swicth on button, lenovo laptop is unable to display screen,...

There's a possibility that the problem is with the LCD cable or the LCD itself. If its either one of them, you will not be able to fix that by yourself since you will need to replaced the part itself. But there's one simple solution that may fix the problem if its not the hardware itself. This may cause by an electrical charge in the motherboard itself,Im not really sure how it affects the display of the computer. Please follow this method since it usually fix such problem like that,

1.Removed the battery then unplugged the AC adapter

2.Press and hold the power button or the ON/OFF button for at least 30 seconds

3.Connect the power supply back to your computer then turn it back on.

4. Check if you will see any difference.

5. If nothing happens, try to press and hold Fn and F2 on the keyboard.

If nothing happens, there is a possibility that the problem is with the LCD or monitor itself, maybe it will need a replacement...

I hope this information will be helpful. Thank you for using FixYa...

I had removed my pc to another room but after installed and checked all the cables connection the cpu was on but monitor and keyboard was not working

You might have bounced the video card out of the motherboard. Open the case on the computer (with power off) and push down on all the cards and make sure they're seated in the motherboard then try starting the computer again.
