Re: Phone blinks once and turns off

Did you follow the charging instructions or did you start using it right away, because its very possible if you ignored the initial charging instructions that you could have ruined the battery from the get go. which would explain all the symptoms you listed

What do I do if my phone keeps shutting off when its fully charged but when I try to take out the battery and put it back in it just starts blinking like crazy?

Your battery is dead. You can simply buy another of the same battery. Rechargable batteries do lose their charge for good after a certain amount of time.

Turn on and off

Depending on the type of cell phone the battery terminals may be dirty. If it is an iPhone the battery is difficult to get out but any other phone that you can access the battery just take it out and rub the contacts with a pencil eraser both in the phone and battery. The is an oxidation that builds up on the contacts that needs to be cleaned even brand new phone needs this done once a month or so. If the battery bars are full strength and it shuts of when it rings or you are sending a message it is enough to shut it down. Also check for pocket dust in the charging hole in the phone that will not allow it to charge fully this solution is good for all kinds of electronic devices . iPads portable computers. Etc Once you have cleaned the contacts charge it up fully with the phone shut off that will "stretch " the memory of the battery and will probably give you twice the time of operation until the next charge. I have a 2year old cell that only needs to be charged once every 4days or so. Good luck

My samsung phone has been fully charged. I try to turn it on, it says "initializing," then shuts down. When unplugged, it won't turn on at all. When plugged in, it shuts down, then blinks to the charging...

Are you sure it was fully charged before? Could you see the full battery bars?

It sounds like your AC adapter (the charger) has likely gone bad. The phone battery probably wore down, and when you plugged it into the charger, the charger couldn't charge it, so the battery remained dead.

Since the battery is not charged, you can't turn the phone on at all when it's not connected to the charger. And when you do connect it to the charger and turn it on, you get the intermittent charging because something inside the adapter has a faulty connection -- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

You can easily verify if the charger is the problem by getting a new charger (they're not too expensive) and seeing if the phone will work and/or charge with the new charger.

If the new charger doesn't fix the problem, post again here and we'll go from there, but I think the new charger will take care of it.

Hope that helps!

Phone won't turn on

You may need a new battery. Also, hold the power button in for at least 10 seconds before letting go. The RAZR has a bad habit of not completely turning on unless you hold it in long enough.

you simply fried your battery by overcharging it. Just get a new one, let it fully charge and fully die twice before you start normal charging. Then you will want to only charge it for about 2 to 3 hours or find a charger that has a smart chip that tells it when to stop charging once the battery is full.
