Same happened to me. I took out original 512K memory from internal slot under the keyboard and replaced it with a new 1G, then added a second 1G module to the external slot on the bottom of the keyboard. Worked fine (but hard drive is giving problems, so another fix is on the way). Please note that removing the keyboard has a few simple steps, but the parts are very sticky, so be careful. Hope this helps.

Does my tablet need a SIM chip and a memory chip?

If your tablet is not cellular capable (is a WiFi only) device - no SIM should be needed. Most tablets have some or only internal memory. If yours has a slot for a memory card (typically an SD, SDHC or SDXC type) you can increase the amount of applications and data it can hold easily. Google your tablet model to learn the types and capacity of the memory cards it supports.

SPECS

It has:
a Quad Core / ARM Cortex-A9 / 1.2 GHz Processor (decent)
16GB of Internal memory (ok i would recomend adding an SD card if you can)
an HDMI output so you can connect to things like a TV
1GB or RAM/Memory (this is a bit on the low side, your tablet will probably close other aps as you open new ones and games like Asphalt may have dificulty)

How to add memory to xplore ix104c2

To begin with, the maximum RAM that the Ix104c2 can operate on is 1gb. Secondly, If you have little to no experience working on laptops, then I would suggest having a computer repair business or a friend who has the knowledge of doing so install the RAM. The inside of the ix104c2 is rather complex and upgrades/repairs should not be attempted by a novice.

This sounds like a serious internal malfunction ,,im sorry i dont know your model exactly,,i dont think you actually need to " heat the chip" they do function at no to low temperatures.you describe really a ram memory malfunction which may need just changeing ,sounds like a curious problem.
good luck anyhow

How do you update the serial number in the BIOS

This is *NOT* a question about an ACER Travelmate LCD display.

The "short" answer is "you cannot", without the proper tools,
namely the tools to physically remove the BIOS chip from the motherboard, and a 'PROM-burner' device, to extract the contents
of the BIOS (about 2Mbits of data), update a few bits, and then
to "program" the updated data back onto the PROM (Programmablel Read Only Memory) chip, and then reinstall the BIOS chip back into your motherboard.

Good luck! Always "experiment" with a "test" motherboard, rather than first goofing-up your "production" motherboard.
