Ticking noise I have a Whirlpool, Conquest side by side refrigerator and once in awhile it makes a loud, continuous ticking noise, like a clock. The noise seems to be coming from underneath and is driving me crazy, any solutions or hints ?

Re: Ticking noise

This is the motherboard part number 2252189 it is getting ready to go out but before you replace motherboard make sure the unit is grounded a bad ground can also make the same problem happen
check ground at wall and all green wires on or around compressor and door hinges

ELECTROLUX American Fridge Freezer making a ticking noise

Hey Jantoye4, thank you for your inquiry!

Based off what you have described your Electrolux freezer is making a ticking noise. This could be from your compressor or condenser. Additionally, you may hear this noise due to your defrost cycle. If you continue to experience the noise more or have another problem I would recommend contacting a professional technician for proper diagnosis and repair. Best of luck! -Matt

Fridge light doesn't work/makes ticking noise

Let the refrigerator cool for awhile without opening the door. 39 minutes should do. Then check to see if the bulb is warm or hot. If it is the door switch is bad and the light is staying on which will make the plastic expand and cracklel or tick. Hope this helps.

We have a 4 year old GE fridge that is ticking like a clock but louder. the model number is GBS20HBSBWW

If the inside fan does not come one, suggestions are "bad mother board", possibly a free replacement from GE, that otherwise is $300+.

My GE side-by-side refrigerator is making a fairly loud ticking sound--about once every second-sounds like a big clock.

Water line to ice maker is frozen. Thaw out freezer. Put food in dry ice cooler and open freezer door, reset to OFF, and thaw freezer for four hours. It'll work after that.

I have a kenmore side by side and the icemaker makes a ticking noise that last about thirty seconds and stops. It happens maybe once an hour. How do we stop the ticking ?

the ticking noise is the icemaker motor. during ice harvest there is a time whne the icemaker motor "stalls" out against the ice before the ice releases into bucket. its during this time the motor is making the noise. this is a sign of motor gear wear. the motor module on the front of your icemaker needs replacing the part number is 8201515 and should run 60-80 dollars. this part is easily replacable. remove front i/m cover and there are 3 phillips screws that hold the module in place.
Hope this answers your question. any furhter questions just leave a comment here and I'll be glad to assist any way I can.. Peyton

Both sides are warm

can yiou tell me what the repairman did? the ticking is the air damper but the cooling is a separate issue. call a different repairman to have them take a look at the compressor, heat exchanger or evaporator as these could all the be source of the problem.
