Hello, when I connect my Wii to a Samsung 3D plasma tv I get a black and white (non-crisp) picture but I do get sound. When I do the same set up on a tube tv everything works. I tried the set up on...

a 3D tv is another form of an HD TV, you need the Wii HD cable to play it right, and make sure you plug it into the HD ports on the TV to get the color and sound back.

Wii is 2 years old just got new tv set wii up and wii has no colour/sound. Colour is grainy black and white and sound only comes out of the wii remote.

please check your cables and make sure that they are on the right ports. simple solution. nothing wrong with your wii. New Tv can be a little confusing. remember just keep your wii on and test the ports till you get the right ones. If other devices are working such as dvd player then you need to replace the cables

Tried to hook up to a AKAI Plasma TV...Only get black and white grainy picture

Ok this is a quick fix. All you ned to get a set of Wii HD cables from the store and all should be fine. Also you might not want to put your Wii on a Plasma TV its not good for the TV try using on LCD, LED, or plain old tv works best that way no image burn

Bought a Wii and using the standard cables it played great on a new 50' Panasonic Plasma as well as on our 2 year old 32' VIZIO LCD. Just upgraded to a 46' Sony LCD (W series) and the Wii looks terrible...

The Wii can display on a HDTV, but keep in mind the output is only 480p. It is not true high definition, and it will only display this using a component video cable. There shouldn't be a difference with LCD and plasma.

You will also need to go to the display settings to force the Wii to display in 480p.

Try a different input (safe to assume your Sony has multiple?) and see if it is that specific input. Also, try a different device like a DVD player or VCR and see if you get the same result.

Good luck.

Just bought a new Wii, hooked it up to our Plasma tv and the set up screen is B&W and fuzzy. Not only is it in B&W, it will not let me begin the set-up.

Try it on a diffrent TV I would not touch a plasma with a ninteno WII but obvioulsy we are two diffrent humans there is nothing wroung with using it with a plasama except you could cause damage with static images not a good thing. If this works on a diffrent tv then the plasma does not like it period. If you get the same on another TV I would return the new unit back to the new store where you bought it from. Thanks and please leave your valuable postive feedback
