Question about Toshiba e310 Pocket PC

Toshiba e310 My sister just gave me a Toshiba Pocket PC e310 but there is no software with it. When I plug it into my maching, the Wizard tries to find the software but can't. Then it shuts down and I can't do anything with it. It acts like it needs a driver but according to the Toshiba website, I shouldn't need a driver. What's wrong?

Yes indeed you need driver first of all download the simple device driver from Toshiba as linked below;

After that download and install Microsoft Active Sync from microsoft as linked below;

The e310 can't use USB power to charge through the cradle. (It needs more than USB specs allow.) You have to supply +5v DC to the connector at the cradle or the e310 itself. Positive terminal is the center pin/hole, negative terminal is the outside barrel of the plug.

Has the Toshiba e310 sync compatibility with Windows 7 64bit?


According to microsoft, the answer is yes. It is compatible.with Windows 7 32 or 64 bit. It should install without additional software.

Sd card


The e310 Chipset is SD only, and so does not support SDHC for more then 2GB. You may try non-standard, non-SDHC 4GB cards which are out of specification for SD, but work in "some" SD enabled devices. Depends on device-software...

PDA e310, e330 or e740 together with Windows NT 4.0


The Toshiba Pocket PC's e310, e330 and e740 are designed to work together with Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Millennium, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Microsoft Windows NT4.0 is an older operating system, which does not work together with the Toshiba Pocket PC's e310,e330 and e740. Technical background: The Toshiba Pocket PC's have a USB and a Infrared interface to communicate with a Computer. Unfortunately, Microsoft Windows NT4.0 does not support USB nor Infrared. Windows NT supports a serial connection, but the serial interface is not available for the Pocket PC's e310,e330 and e740. Note: There is the possibility to synchronize a PDA over Network or Modem but the ActiveSync Software, which is responsible for the synchronization, will need a "first sync" to establish a "partnership" with the PDA. This "first sync" can only be done via USB.
