---> Check if you are able to go online.

--- If Not Try Assigning DNS Addresses For your Wireless Network

- Right Click on Wireless Network Connection > Properties > Under this connection uses the Following Items. > Double Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

- Select Use the Following DNS Server Addresses:

- Preferred DNS Server:

Says i am connected but when i open firefox it says that i have no network connection... the wireless icon also says it is acquiring ip address

if the message aquiring ip address comes in computer then it says that the wireless router is not giving an ip address to your computer.... check if any static ip address is assigned to your wireless connection...if so change to "obtain ip address automatically".... right click on wireless network name> goto properties > authentication tab> uncheck "enable IEE athentication"
now try to connect again, still not restart the computer once...... this will resolve the issue.... still if it is not connected then check for the security settings in the router... if your computer is XP/MAC, it may not recognize WPA security type.... change it to WEP type and try to connect again....

Inttalled belkin wireless adaptor, says strength is good, but not valid ip

the work of a belkin adapter is to receive the wireless signal in and around the adapter when pluged into computer
if ur able to see the wireless network then ur adapter is working fine
check the ip as
start>control panel>network connection>rite click on wireless network>click properties>choose internet protocol tcp/ip (highlight it and click on properties) then "obtain ip address has to be checked"

then cllick OK and try going online --- u must access the internet

My netgear usb connects to my wireless belkin..but no internet ?

this message comes when your computer is not getting the IP address from the router.
There are possible reasons for that.
1. DHCP on the router may be disabled.
2. If your network is secured , then you might not be typing the correct network key.

In both the cases , you will need to check the settings of the router.
You will need to access the router set up.

Cannot connect to internet

hopefully you have'nt give the pc the same ip address as the other as it won't connect.

You will need to make sure that DHCP is enabled within the routers settings as this will tell the router to assign ip addresses automatically, then go to network connections, right click on your wireless network card>properties>TCP/IP line>properties and tick 'obtain an ip address automatically', click ok, close window and restart pc.

Open up internet explorer>tools>internet options>connections tab and ensure that never dial a connection is ticked or the option greyed out, close I.E. then open up again, click refresh and it should connect.

2WIRE wireless router/DSL from AT&T

unless this is a wireless enabled or lan RJ45 connectable printer you cannot, the pc that the printer is connected to must be on at the time of the printing.

Wireless printers have their own arial and allocated ip address, Lan RJ45 connective printers can be connected to the router.

Will not connect

If the connection is correct, make sure that the tcp/ip settings on your pc is set to OBTAIN IP AUTOMATICALLY. There might be a STATIC ip set on your adapter.

Cannot connect my wireless adapter to Belkin wireless router

Check and see if this setup guide matches your device?

Setup Guide

If it does we can probably search for more information.

Did you configure your router using WEP, WPA security (using passphrases) on your router?
Did you enable MAC address checking on your router?

Connected on Wireless but unable to connect on Internet

If not done allready, setup the lan IP address and default gateway in win98 Click MyComputer-ControlPanel-Network-Double Click TCP/IP Adapter for your 3com device-insert LAN info for IP Adress-subnet mask, Gateway and your Internet service providors DNS Addresses info Tab's (3x different Tabs "IP Adress" "Gateway" "DNS Configuration") IP Adress will be at least one number higher than your gateway address and not allready being used by other PC's on your network and gateway address will same as your router interface address subnet mask will be the same for all PC's on your network. For 3com and Netgear routers LAN setup is usually Gateway = Subnet Mask = IP Adress = alternate number than 10 if allready used by another PC on your network, try to use round numbers, must be a number higher than 1) Once all info is entered click OK (this may trigger a database info update message and task)now your LAN is setup and ready to talk to your network Restart PC and try browsing again. May possibly require reinstallation of the TCP/IP client (you double clicked this to setup your LAN in Win98) or reinstallation of the IIS(Internet Information Services)component found in, Add/Remove Programs-Add/Remove windows components and then try LAN setup again if this does not work first time round

Connection problems

Is wireless connection enabled in your routers wireless settings and not encrypted in any way until a connection is established. Make sure your router is set to enable DHCP, as this will give your wireless card an IP address automatically. Ensure your card is set to obtain an ip address automatically. If not look in your routers setup(normally by typing, in your internet browser) to see what IP address and DNS address it has given your connected pc (eg Then go into your cards properties and use the IP address, but the same DNS address(probably; then re start the wireless pc and the router if neccasary. If you still get no connection, ensure wireless light is on; on your router, and you have no obstacles in the way of the signal. If you are using WEP encryption it is normally a Shared key setting rather than an open key setting. Please reate this solution.
