Tape keeps ejecting itself

I have a Sony Handycam CCD-TRV308. When I put a tape in to try to watch it, it ejects it immediately after the door closes. What could be causing this?

My handycam will eject properly and close properly with no tape. When I put a tape in and close it, it wont **** in, and makes a sound for about 15 seconds then ejects the tape, but...

I'm no authority on this model but when I did something like this on my Canon GL 2 I had the tape in the opposite way and it came up to the stops and clicked. All I did to make it work was turn the tape around and I was good to go. Your camera is doing the same thing and the tape is just coming to the stop. If you don't correct it my camera went into a sleep mode some may even shut right off.

Cannot find way to eject tapecassette

Check eject lever near battery, press it downward to open tape compartment, take out old tape and put new tape, close tape door and let it go inside by itself. Close tape compartment.

Below image will help you to locate eject button/ lever in DCR-HC18E camcorder.

Tape wont play or eject.

i just read about this c:31:22 problem while looking for a solution to another problem I am having. Someone suggested removing the battery, switching the camera to the "camera" setting, and then turn it off, put the batter back in and it should work. Good luck.
