Cannot connect wirelessly. unable to acquire ip

unplug everything.Unhook everything. NO cables should be connected to anything or plugged in electrically, even your cable box or modem. My cable(high-speed internet) modem has a manual reset on back--hold that in for 60 seconds also- mine has a battery back up so the lights may not ever all go out. Now follow hook-up instructions. I think The computer may need restarted after connections and installation to apply changes. I have LINKSYS and had that same problem- I'm pretty sure now that a computer restart solved it-not sure as its been around 3 yrs ago. There is also a reset button on wireless box, both boxes need reset periodically as your computer will slow down if you have alot of memory stored. Good luck-I know its frustrating!
