Problem for Intuit QuickBooks: Pro 2005 for PC

Intuit QB 2002 Running a Dell XPS with XP pro and no problem for 2 years with the program until the latest patch from MicroSoft (Robber Barron of the PC age and seller of BETA versions). still on IE version 6.0.
Also running program on laptop without problems. Tried uninstalling and deleting all QB and Intuit files, but when installing QB still comes up with the previous installation key and seems to keep the silly error also.
Short of a new PC how can I get the old, error retaining program off the computer so I can replace with file functioning file on the laptop.

Any help except suggesting that I buy new software or a new PC would be appreciated.

- The error was the same as the one that I replied to on FixYa but, they don't seem to link the problems. The error message is "This file was not closed in the previous session. Rolling back to last fully recorded transaction." The only option is to click on "OK" Nothing else on the page is clickable. Alt+ F4. shuts the program down, but does not clear the error message. Clicking OK starts to open the normal opening screen for QB and then the error that MS has experienced a problem and needs to shutdown. Now trying uninstalling, installing in a different file, and doing a registry clean up with Claryworks.

What is the "silly error" you are receiving? Quickbooks issues can be a pain to diagnose but they are a whole lot easier to resovle if you know what error message you are seeing!

I unfortunately have to use quickbooks as well in my personal life & in my professional life. After an exhaustive search I finally found a solution to my problems which are not exactly the same as yours but sound very similar.

It was all down to .Net Framework. I completely removed it from our systems using this I also uninstalled Q.B. Ran a free registry cleaner and reinstalled everything and it worked first time no problems.

Not sure if this will help too much but hopefully should get you on your way.
