Re: cannot load dvd so i can burn it

You will need some DVD authoring program such as Nero or NTI to record DVD's. The programs should have come loaded on the machine if it is a DVD burner. Are you sure it is a Burner and not just a DVD player? Check in the program start area and see if there is a burning program.

It doesnt duplicate dvd's

You need special software to do this, and a DVD Burner.
If your dvd player/burner has the mark "DVD-RW" on it, then it is a burner.
If you are using Windows, then I suggest a program called dvd shrink.
It can shrink your dvd's to cd size, but it also can make a copy from dvd to dvd.
It's free, and you can download it here:
Also, if you don't have 2 dvd players and/or burners, then you will have to first have dvd shrink back up your dvd into a file, and then burn from the file to a new dvd.
I hope this helped you :) -Denny

New computer, never used a burner before. how to use the dvd burner?

Purchase or download free burning software. There is a number of different softwares to choose for your DVD burning needs. SwiftDisc Burning Wizard Premium, Xilisoft DVD Creator and Nero 9 come with a free trial. The purchasing price is less than $100, as of 2009. Ashampoo Burning Studio Free and BurnAware Free are available if you do not want to buy the software.

  • 2 Insert a DVD into the burner. The DVD-RWs offer the option of erasing the DVD or adding more application to the disk. Do not use this type of disk for playing movies in a regular DVD player or music in a stereo. DVD-R disks are non-erasable. Take extra care when burning on this type of disk, any errors or accidentally opening the drive will cause the disk to stop functioning.
  • 3 Run your burning software. When you insert the disk, a window will appear. Press the "X" in the top right corner. Click on the "Start Menu" icon. Go to "Programs" then click on the burning application folder. You will have different options depending on the program. Typically, you will have the choice of burning data, videos or music.

I Put Oen New DVD CD in my Pc Drive(SHS222A) but showing (0) byte but I test with another PC OK showing 4. Some byte so why?

The dvd/cd that you are putting it in can not be burned by that computer/optical drive. For example some dvd types are not burned by all burners. Make sure it is compatible.

If this is a Windows computer. Make sure that you have the proper drivers installed.
Is the disc scratched? that could also be an issue.

I just got a brand new pc and i dont know how to

    Hello Dear,

(This procedure is with Microsoft Windows OS)
It's quite easy to use CD/DVD Burner. Most of the CD/DVD writer comes with the Installation CD, that contains the burning software (mostly Nero Burning Rome). Just Install the Software from this CD.
Now you see the programe icon on desktop (i.e. Nero). Double Click on this icon, and you will be presented with the choice, as what type of CD or DVD you want to burn (i.e. Music, Picture, Date). Select the appropriate option. Now add files and click on BURN, when ready. In no time your CD/DVD is ready.

I need to burn dvd with phptos and vidio on the one disk

    • Click on "Start" in the lower left-hand corner of the desktop screen. Then select "All Programs," "Accessories" and "Windows Explorer."
    • Open the DVD burner tray and insert a blank DVD or CD. Close the tray.
    • Navigate to the hard drive that has the files to be burned. Click on the files or folder to be burned, and drag to the DVD burner drive icon in Windows Explorer.
    • Select "File," then "Write these files to CD." Ensure that all the files that need to be written to the CD or DVD are on the list in the temporary files area that can be found in Windows. The CD writing wizard will open; follow the instructions in the wizard.
    • Remove the CD or DVD when finished and apply label. Close drive tray.
    Thanks, SF

    Burner not installed message

James, I have found in the past that many computer manufacturers only install a trial version of some software. One major manufacturer, who shall remain nameless custum built a P.C online that included a CD burner, but I found out later that even though they installed the burner, they provided no burning software. It sounds as though you have no CD burning software installed. First, from the start button, go to control panel, then to add remove software. A list will compile showing all software installed on your machine. If you do not have a CD, or DVD burning program installed and your computer came with no CD's( most today do not) that may contain that program, you will probably have to buy your own at this point. Just to clarify, do you only have a CD burner, or is it a CD burner/ DVD ROM, or do you have a DVD burner. If you have a DVD burner, then you are capable of burning both CD's and DVD's. If you need to purchase burning software I would suggest you do an internet search for Nero, This is the software that I use. It works well in addition to being easy to use.On the Nero site I have in the past purchased their OEM version, the OEM versions are usually available at very good prices. I prefer to purchase software online and have a disc mailed to me as opposed to downloading it online just so that I have a hard copy if I ever need it. If you are limited to burning CD's, just get the CD software. If the device you have installed in your computer is a DVD burner, then purchase the DVD software and you can burn on both formats.
