I have a Sony widescreen tv 27". I've turned it on today to find circular bands of colour, going from the centre out. Nothing is the correct colour that it's supposed to be. Any ideas what it could be.
Sounds like it needs demagnetizing, also make shure you dont have any unshielded speaker close to the set, demagnetizing is performed with a demagnetizing coil, you can purchase one at any tv parts dealer for about 30dollars

Four blinks = No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505 (this varies from model to model). If you have no expertise with sets like this, or this does not solve your problem, get a quote from an authorized SONY service centre - before going any further or getting the set fixed. It doesn't matter if the set is a flat panel widescreen or standard CRT model; the symptoms are similar for each and the repair costs for such will be pretty much the same.
this a problem with microprocessor signal, this will be difficult for to fix it yourself. Every signal coming from tv goes to the CPU, you must have high skill for to repair and diagram. I can recommend you to get assistance from some repair shop TV for fix it. see the diagram and you will see the problem difficult. God bless you
Generally these type of problem occurs due to atmosphere contains moisture content. Even if it happens in warm area i suspect fbt leakage. Since this is high voltage transformer it can be serviced by qualified technicians only. Red light flashes indicates the tv in protection mode to avoid severe damage due to some short circuit. I think it is helpful to you
It's called the aspect ratio - and on the WEGA design I think you've got a button on the remote labled picture mode.. If not or that doesn't work go into the menu and look for aspect or aspect ratio and rest that to 16:9...
