Can not conect to wifi

the canon MP170 is not a wifi printer, you need to connect it to a computer via usb, if you have have a second computer on your network you may "share" the printer across the network.this will allow you to print wirelessly to the printer via the connected PC.

I have a Lexmark X3550 printer and need a wireless adapter card, but cannot find this anywhere since Lexmark no longer carries this part. Is there another wireless adapter card that would be compatable...

Try E-Bay, you might be lucky.
Failing that, you can try using a LAN print server, connect the printer to the print server and connect the printer server to your LAN.
Then any computers on your LAN can print to this printer.
OR
Connect the printer to your computer and set it up as a shared printer and if your computer is connected to the LAN then any computer can print to this printer provided you computer and printer are switched on.

Epson sx510w prints using a cable but can't get it to print wireless

The specs for your model Epson allows you to connect the you network by wireless and by LAN cable.

The specs are as follows :-
Wi-Fi Wireless LAN IEEE 802.11b/g – compatible with 802.11n*
*Transmission rate will be limited to 802.11g and will operate in the 2.4 GHz frequency band
Ethernet Wired LAN IEEE 802.3 (100BASE-TX, 10BASE-T)
Other PictBridge
Wireless security
WEP – 64bit
WEP – 128bit
WPA – PSK (TKIP) – compliant with WPA2
WPA – PSK (AES) – compliant with WPA2

To connect the printer by a LAN cable you need to configure the Epson for an IP address that suits your network configuration and connect the LAN cable to your wireless router/hub.

The reason why you cannot print using wireless is because the wireless configuration in the Epson is not setup with the router's wireless configuration ie. SSID WPA encryption etc.

For instructions of setting up a LAN network printer, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-
http://www.fixya.com/support/r3668797-setting_up_shared_network_printer

For instructions on setting up a wireless printer, the Epson wireless settings need to be configured with the router's wireless settings. Go into your router's wireless and note the SSID, and encryption settings etc and configure the Epson's wireless settings with the router's wireless settings. This will allow the Epson to connect to the wireless router. Please click on this link for instructions to secure your wireless network, configure the wireless router (if you have not already do so) and configure the wireless card in the computers and wireless printer (the instructions for configuring the wireless card in the printer is the same as for the wireless card in the computers via the printer's menu screen).

My hp 4250 printer makes multiple config sheets,,its set to the default of 1 copy (s)

Hi,

Please perform Cold Reset and then upgrade the firwmare of the printer
HP LaserJet 4250 and 4350 Series Printers - Performing a Cold Reset NOTE: The Jetdirect LAN (such as the IP address of the printer) settings will be reset to defaults by this operation. Record LAN settings before resetting the printer. Reconfigure LAN settings after the reset if you are using a LAN connection). To avoid resetting the LAN settings disable the embedded Jetdirect before performing a Cold Reset by choosing the Disable LAN option from the choices available when you get to step 5 below. Note that after choosing to disable the LAN it is necessary to reboot the printer and then choose to perform the Cold Reset . During the power up sequence only one operation can be performed at a time. In this case, first disable the LAN, then reboot the printer and perform the Cold Reset followed by another reboot to reenable the LAN.
To perform a cold reset:
  1. Turn the printer power off.
  2. Power on the printer and watch for the memory count to begin.
  3. Hold down the SELECT (Checkmark) button, when you see the memory count begin.
  4. Continue holding down the SELECT (Checkmark) button until all three printer control-panel lights flash once and then remain on. This might take up to 10 seconds.
  5. After the message SELECT LANGUAGE appears on the display, press the UP ARROW button or the DOWN ARROW button until COLD RESET appears on the display
  6. Press the SELECT (Checkmark) button. The printer performs a cold reset and then continues its power-on sequence.
  7. Check all I/O settings and reset any user-set printer configuration values. NOTE: Before the I/O (LAN) settings can be reset to their correct values the embedded Jetdirect must first be renabled to make those options visible and available on the control panel of the printer. Renable it in the control panel settings then reset them to their correct values.

Netgear FWG114P Print Sever not functioning on upper level of LAN

if you set your dynalink's dhcp list up to a certain number (example: .1-.99). connect cat5 cable from dynalink lan port, into print server lan port. make sure print server can be setup as access point. if so, turn access point setting to on. make print server static ip address the next number outside of dhcp range (example: .100).

.100 ip address is the port number you should then be printing to, using a tcp/ip port.

if print server can be set up this way, then it now becomes wireless access point for all wireless devices. i am assuming, since you didn't mention it, that the dynalink is NOT wireless. if it is, the the print server just becomes another device on your existig network, taking the place of the network adapter the printer doesn't have. just set it up the same way you would set up another workstation on the network. except, make it static.

I know is a generic solution but you got an idea.
