My old CR Tube TV is making a cracking sound across what seems to be the HT tube lead, do I scrap it? I have vaccumed the dust out with ne success.

Discharge the tubes anode to earth and wipe clean the HT tube lead with alcohol. If the crackling sound continues replace the HT tube lead andor LOPT. (if available) Moisture and dampness will aggrivate this symptom.
