Re: re synchronisation

While the new location your moving your phone to is connected to your Mitel system, the port is not programmed to work with the model your plugging in. Contact your system administrator to arrange the movement of your extension via programming or a simple wiring cross connect change.

I have the Dect 1683 with three handsets. We had a hurricane and the power went out and not all three handsets read "Searching" and I get no dial tone. When the phone rings it rings but you...

Just unplug the base unit from AC wall power socket for a while, say for about 5 minutes or so, replugh the base unit to power socket again. Place each handset on it and synchronise it with the base unit. As you put it on, you will hear a beep sound. Now the ahndset ahs been synchronised with base unit. Do this for the other two handsets. OK.

It sounds like you have a defect in the main base, I suggest returning the item because you have gone as far you can go short of taking it apart.

Phone can't find a signal.

Put the handset into the base when it's plugged in, the light on the phone should blink and connect.

As for the unplugging part, buy yourself either a surge protector (and a relatively good one, not a cheapie version) or a small UPS (a.k.a. a battery backup unit) that will protect your phone from electrical damage from storms.

NEC Phone Reprogramming

Turn Set Relocation ON - Feature 84 and just move it.

If you are swapping phone locations:
  • Turn Set Relocation ON - Feature 84 then
  • From the phone being moved, press Speaker 61
  • Enter the swap extension
  • Enter password when prompted (probably 10 zeros)
Confirmation should appear on LED and you should hear a beep.
