I recently bought a Packard Bell LM81, having problems with the sound, when playing back DVD´s the music plays loud enough but the voice is extremely quiet, also having problems with sound when...

first lets make sure your speakers are in the right plug on the back of that sound card. Sounds like you have the speakers in a plug that supports 5.1 audio after witch your only hearing that distinct channel.

Check the back there should be 3 or 4 plug ins 3.5 mm in size. They should be labeled. Make sure your plugged in the correct port on the back of the sound card itself.

please update me with any details if your problem was fixed with this solutions or not.

Thanks for using

You should install the sound card driver. The proper drivers should be given while buying your laptop. If not or you lost it, you cn download the driver from acer's site.

Sound problem on my HP desktop

Try going into the control panel - Sounds. Find the different items that can have sounds. There you can select a sound and play it. Do you hear it? If so, it's not the computer or card setup. If you don't hear any of the sounds there, it's probably the sound card (either hardware or drivers). The CD plays through the soundcard so it's not likely the hardware.

As to the keyboard control, that's likely HP specific drivers that are missing or wrong. If you reinstalled Windows on this machine - you may not have all the original drivers that came with the machine, especially if you downloaded them from HP support. Sometimes those "special" functions are hard to find.

Hope that gives you something to work with,

First of all you need to check volume controls to see if it has been muted. Go to programs then accesories then entertainment then volume control. After the volume controls pop up check to see if any of the boxes are muted if not you need to reinstall drivers Here is the place to get the driver for your sound card
This is where the drivers are. You have to become a member to download its free then you can download driver to fix your sound
