Yes you can.
After installation you will need to activate it. If it wont activate online, then there is telephone activation option - always works.

Umm... the odds are: no. Windows is notorious for making sure that any old versions are "legit". If it is an upgrade, the "new" CD will ask for you to "authenticate" the install by inserting the old disk, which you don't have. If you are trying to re-install the same version, the new disk may have a "repair" feature, but doubtful...

My advice? If you are trying to upgrade, find someone who has an old Windows 2000 disk with the product key, f-disk and format the drive, install the old 98, and upgrade from that. Then you have both disks, with both keys.

Hope that helps!

How to Reset Password on Latitude?

We have usually had no idea on problems, such as: help reset password on Dell Latitude laptop , Dell Latitude admin password hack, bios password reset Dell Latitude, how do I reset my dell Latitude notebook back to the factory, etc. Once problem comes with password, we will hopefully get easy and quickly solutions supported for us! Now, we collect some ways to reset Dell Latitude password if forgot password again.

1. With created Dell Latitude password reset disk to recover lost Windows XP, 7, etc. password.
Though it maybe the most efficient way to help us in case we meet such password problem, most of us may not make sense of the importance of the disk for us PC users. The disk needs to be created before we forgot Dell Latitude password or once we set the account. If you did not have one, now look for Dell Password Reset Disk.

2. Unlock Dell Latitude password in Safe Mode (in XP)
Step 1. Press F8 when Latitude laptop starts. Select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" and Enter.
Step 2. At the login screen with computer user accounts, choose an available account to login. Please note that the Administrator account (default/built-in) password is blank if never set password for it before.
Step 3. In Safe Mode, Dos command displays. Input "net user" and press Enter to list all the user names in Windows XP computer. Then input "net user Linda 123456" (Linda is the locked account name and 123456 is the new password set on this account) and press Enter. Then we will see "The command completed successfully."
Step 4. Input "shutdown -r" and press Enter to restart the system, then we can access "Linda" account in normal logon mode.

3. Easy to recover lost Dell Latitude Windows password by DIY a password reset disk.
DIY password reset disk is just to say, burn an .iso image file into a bootable CD/DVD/USB Flash Drive for the lost account after forgotten Windows password. The .iso file can be mainly got from professional password recovery software. Take one of the most popular software - Windows Password Recovery Corporation as example:
Step 1. Download Windows Password Recovery Corporation and burn .iso file to a bootable CD/DVD/USB via an accessible PC.
Step 2. Boot the target computer from CD/DVD/USB.
Step 3. Retrieve lost Dell Latitude password with the burned CD/DVD/USB.

In case we forget our Dell Latitude password or need to remove or break password on Dell Latitude, the above three methods may make sure that we get out of Latitude password reset problem easily and quickly!

Need to replace hard drive. Lost system restore cd. OS=xp profess

you can borrow a copy of xp pro from someone and when it asks for the product key, put the one on the bottom of your computer. then use someones computer to download the wireless network driver or regular network driver so you can get the computer on the internet and then just download the rest of the drivers and youre set. i have a couple d600's and have done this a lot of times on mine and my friends. if you wanna talk more about this, let me know your email so we can communicate like that. i just noticed your initials. my first two are JJ as well!!

Dell latitude d510 " Orginal product key " will not be accepted

The copy of Windows XP software is not licensed to your computer. Thus the product key you are using is invalid. The only way is to buy a copy of Windows XP and use that product key license. I have heard of software that will find the product key of software programs. You could try to Google “software key finder” or something like that and see which is cheaper.
