Cannot select scan to destination

Hi,

To get scan options on your unit you need to update the destination list on HP Solution Center. Please perform the steps given below to populate the destination list.

Populate the destination list:

You must populate the destination list in HP Solution Center for the Scan To options on the unit. Follow these steps to populate the destination list.

NOTE: HP Solution Center is the software that came with the product. You must make sure the software is installed on the computer for all the product functions to work correctly. The software is also necessary for completing this procedure. Install HP Solution Center if it is not already installed.
  1. From HP Solution Center, select the appropriate product, and then click Settings.
  2. Click Scan Settings and Preferences.
  3. Click Scan to... Setup.
  4. Click the Destination List tab.
NOTE: It might take several minutes for the list to populate.
  1. Click each program to include on the Scan To list.
  2. Click the Add arrow. The program listing moves from the left side of the screen to the right.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Now Press scan button on your All-in-One and check whether the scan options are updated.
  5. If the scan options are still not updated then turn off and on your All-in-One and verify the results.

Can not scan

When this happen it is usually the USB cable. When this happen it is usually a problem with the USB cable. If
communication on USB cable is bad, as a result you can print but not
scan.Having also messed up a bit with the drivers ("HP digital
monitoring icon anymore"), you may also need to reinstall the driver.
My suggestion on how to proceed is the following.
Buy a better usb cable, the shilded ones cost a couple of dollars more but guarantee better communication.
Unplug printer from usb.
Unplug computer and printer from power for two minutes.
Plug back computer and printer to power, DO NOT plug in USB cable yet, leave printer NOT connected to pc.
Reinstall
drivers and software, keep printer disconnected until connection is
explicitely required by printer software installation process, or after
installing.
Connect printer when required.
Check that there is no
electric device (power adapters, extension etc.) very near to printer
USB cable, they can cause electromagnetic disturbance.
Try scanning. If it does not work at thhis point is either a problem with windows (new windows install required) or a faulty scanner.
