I can't get it connected to a LCD TV which is hooked up to Dish Network via HDMI. I can get it to play, but not record. I can't find the source channel even if I scan the channels. I check out the wiring scheme at Dish Network for HDMI and tried it, but still no way to get to the recording feature

- I tried hooking up the receiver directly to the DVR100 and it didn't change anything. I still cannot use the recorder

- The last solution worked great. Thank you for your help.
Your main query of "...no way to get to the recording feature..." would largely be dependent on what device (brand and model number) is being used to receive Dish Network channels and in part to the brand and model number of the LCD TV would also have a 'say' on the alternative connection.
Suggested connection:
connect the Dish Network receiver to TV using HDMI;
connect the Dish Network receiver using composite VIDEO (yellow) and AUDIO (L & R / red & white) to the Protron PD-DVR100's SOURCE INPUT IN1 (VIDEO - yellow & R-AUDIO-L red & white);
connect the Protron PD-DVR100's VIDEO OUT (component) Y/G, Pb/B & Pr/R (green, blue & red) plus AUDIO OUTPUT to the TV using similarly colored INPUT jacks;
to watch Dish Network, set TV to HDMI;
to watch DVDs, set TV to Component Video (Video 1, 2, 3 or whatever is designated by the TV as component video depending on brand & model of TV);
to record Dish Network, set TV as if to watch a DVD. On the Protron's remote control, press the INPUT button a couple of times to cycle through the available inputs; Tuner, AV1, AV2, AV3, DV (IEEE 1394) and disc to select AV1;
the Dish Network channel/program should now be displayed on the TV even if the TV is set to the Protron;
insert a supported blank DVD and press RECORD on the Protron unit.
You have to feed the signal directly to the DVD recorder itself. The DVD recorder will have its own tuner and you have to put the signal antenna directly into the DVD unit.
The only alternative is to swich one of your HDMI inputs on your TV to an output. The problem with this is your TV will only output the signal you are watching (if the TV even has this capability and many do not).
Therefore your signal from the dish network must first be sent to the DVD and then output from the DVD to the TV, It sounds as if you may have it wired the other way round from your description.
Hope this helps. Please do rate this answer. Many Thanks.
