Acer e-mail and encrytion problems

Hi I have an Acer Travelmate 3270

Everytime i send documents through my e-mail the person recieving the mail cannot open the attachment.

I am currently using office 2007 and windows Xp.

I have been told that this is an encryption problem and cannot seem to take this setting off. I have also disabled any protection from my norton that might interfere with the documents i am trying to send.

Please help it would be much apprecieated.

Re: Acer e-mail and encrytion problems

OTHER computers can only open Office documents if they also have the same version of office or a HIGHER (newer) version (backward compatibilitiy)
Office 2007 doc can open ONLY with Office 2007.
Both computers must have Office 2007.

But if you have Office 2007 you can open any OLDER Office doc (Office 2003, Office XP, etc.)
If much older, (Office 95 or earlyier) there is a conversion program to open the older version with a newer version.

Attachments freeze computer

If you press [ALT]+[TAB] and bring the email message with the attachment to the front and send it, that should release your mail. Until you actually send your email (or save it to send later), Word will not allow you to close it.

Or, just to make life easier, save your document, and attach IT to your email rather than trying to send the document from within Word.

It sounds like you're using Outlook, which has a nasty habit of keeping hold of objects (like your Word Document) until it is finished with them, sometimes requiring that it be completely closed.

Sending a Word document to MS Outlook

It is a bug with the mail contacts. If you were to send to someone not on your contact list, I expect it would send okay. But seeing as you want to send to that particular person, save the document and send it as an attachment via Hotmail or whatever email account you have.

E-Mailing documents from Microsoft Works 8.0 word processor

First of all I take it you have an email account set up on the new PC and internet connection. Make sure the email program is set to be your default email. Take a look at Control Panel Default Programs Set Your Default Programs Highlight your email program on the left and click set as default Retry sending a document as a email.
