We have several Lexmark printers on site, which are connected to our system. However, when these printers run out of paper mid-way through a print job, the print job gets stuck in a loop and keeps printing the same document endlessly until the queue is cleared and printer restarted.
This error has only started since the existing HP Laserjet printers were replaced with the current Lexmarks

I regret to inform you that the Lexmark X7170 does not work on Linux Mint. Unfortunately, there is no driver available driver for this previous generation printer model for your Linux system. If you want, you may contact Lexmark Technical Support Center to search for other Lexmark printers that can work on your Linux system and that meets your printing needs.
Try to remove the existing printer driver from your computer. Go to Start > Programs > Lexmark Z2400 Series > Tools > Uninstall. Your computer will then uninstall the Lexmark program. After the uninstall process, reboot pc when prompted.
When your pc turns on, check if your operating system is running on 32-bit or 64-bit. Go to Start > right-click on Computer > click on Properties. Take note of the System Type.
Use the link below to re-install the Lexmark Z2400 Series printer driver:
- Lexmark Z2400 Series driver for Windows 7 32-bit
- Lexmark Z2400 Series driver for Windows 7 64-bit
Download and execute the file. Simply follow the instructions on your computer screen.
I hope this helps.
Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.lexmark.com
Click "Select your product".
Enter 'Lexmark x1270'.
Select "Windows" operating system.
Select "Windows 7 32-bit" or "Windows 7 64-bit".
Download the device-driver.
Disconnect the printer.
Install the device-driver, connecting the printer when prompted to do so.
Here's the link to the Lexmark website for the Lexmark Z611 drivers. http://bit.ly/cHv7cW . Click on the Microsoft dropdown to choose the version of the operating system of your computer. If you're using Vista or Windows 7, check if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. For Windows 7, no specific drivers for it however you can use the Vista drivers. Choose the correct driver compatible with your computer's operating system. NOTE: Unfortunately, printer is not compatible with Macintosh operating systems. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.
Try resetting the ink settings on the printer's program. I use compatable cartidges all the time in my lexmark no problems, as long as i always rest the ink before i start a new one. Try a good clean too. Why are you contacting hp site if your printer is a lexmark. You need the lexmark site. I thought your printer issue is with a lexmark z1420
In linux there is CUPS as the default printing system. It is usually compatible with HP printers and some others too.
But lexmark printer drivers should be obtained from the lunux support site or the manufacturer's website.
