All wireless router manfacturers do not set their devices to the same gateway address so the may not be accurate for your router. Can you identify the router's manufacturer and model number? Without that assuming you are on a windows computer you can open either a DOS Prompt or Command Prompt depending on the version of windows you are running. From that window issue the command ipconfig (it may require some operands and there may be multiple connections appear). Generally look for a connection probably with an IP address beginning 192.168.?.? and record the default gateway also probably a 192.168.?.? address. This may then be utilized like your friend to access the configuration for your wireless router. You may require an url like https://192.168.?.? or http://192.168.?.? where ?.? is from the default gateway address above. In addition you will probably require a UserID and Password that if unchanged can be gotten from the manufacturer's documentation or possibly reset using the manufacturers documentation if it was changed and is unknown. The manufacturer and model information along with the information for the wireless network adapters accessing router will be necessary to find a suitable security scheme to "lock" this device for secured access. Besides encryption schemes routers sometimes support using MAC addresses from your specific network cards to limit devices they will communicate with. These decisions need to be made after the additional information is identified.

Sorry just noticed the DI-524 model number. There appear to be 5 revisions for this particular model please review the indicated link and determine the specific revision for your router.

Also try to gather the manufacturer and model number of the various wireless adapters (cards) you expect to communicate with this device.

So we can access the router to configure it -- the web pages you claim to see -- that is good -- sorry I was so slow in understanding that..

Step 1 use the link below-- match the pictures to the label on your router and get the revision A, B, C, D, E for your router so we can download the associated link. This will allow us to have matching copies of the user guide for your wireless router.

Step 2 - I need to know about your wireless adapter. If it was built into your computer by the manufacturer can I get the manufacturer and model number of your computer? If it is an add-on device can I get the manufacturer and model of the device?

With the user guides for your router adapter and your wireless adapter (or computer telling us about the wireless adapter) we can choose an encryption option that will work with both your router and your wireless adapter.

Thanks for your efforts thus far.

Use the following steps to reset the router to factory defaults;

- Press the reset button for 10 seconds. You can use a small object, such as a paper clip to hold down the button.

- Do not unplug or power off the unit while the router is being reset.
- The unit should now reboot, and once the WLAN light stops blinking the router should be reset.
- Open your Web browser and enter in the address bar.

I have problem setting up my wireless network and redirecting my wireless client to my local webpages before they can access to internet.   see this diagram below :...

you need to replace your modem with a router that is capable of running Network Address Translation. You are trying to route private IP's (192,168.x.x) over the public IP (internet) network.

A 2nd pc connected to my belkin 54g wirless rouer now mine cannot

Of course you've clicked "refresh" wireless network list? Go to the working computer and in a DOS box type IPCONFIG /ALL to find the gateway address for the router. ( Or refer to your wireless connection utility ). I will probably be for example. In your browser address line put HTTP:// and click the arrow. You should be talking to the router now, default id and/or password is typically ADMIN. Go to wireless settings and make sure SSID broadcast is turned on. Also note the SSID name, encryption type ( WEP, WPA, etc ) and note the key, if any. You now have enough information to connect the second computer. Yeah, this is complicated. If it's more than you want to know best get a friend to help you, though I may be able to answer specific questions once you get into it.

Cant access

Make sure your web browser is not set to use a proxy or any firewall it is blocking the connection, then try to go to again.

If it still fails, try from a different machine on the LAN. If that still fails, then try restoring factory defaults to the router.

Security enabled d link router

If you got it from a friend, the first thing you should do is take a paper clip, and look in the back of the router for a little hole labelled "Reset". This will reset the router to the default settings. With the unit on, press this button for about 10 seconds. After this, hook up the router, by ethernet connection to your pc. Once the connection is made to your pc, and the router is on, go to or depending on the exact model. It will ask you for a username/password. The user name is "admin", and there is no password. From there, you are in the router configuration. Click "Wireless" on the left of the page to edit your wireless configuration. Click apply when you have everything set to your liking, and you're done!
